Democrat Party

This is my story of how I became a Republican. It started back in 1980 when I was in college at a place called Sterling Institute in Vermont. It was a liberal college, but it wasn't over the top liberalism, unlike today, I'm ashamed to have gone there. I was studying forestry at that time. I love being in the woods, and I always loved trees without being a tree hugger.
When I entered college in 1980 I didn't have a political leaning. I grew up in SE PA to two parents who were blue collar democrats from Baltimore. My mother was more liberal than my dad, but neither were overly political or crazy.
What shaped me in 1980-1981 were two separate events. In December of 1980 John Lennon was shot and killed and in March 1981 President Reagan was nearly killed in an assassination attempt.
When John Lennon was shot, many cried, rightfully so.
Three months later when President Ronald Reagan was shot the same people who cried in December were cheering in March.
At the time, that struck me a as being sick. It was the first of a series of events over the next couple of years that formed my political bent.
Fast forward to today, 45 years later and the only thing that has changed is that democrat's have become more vile, deranged and dangerous.
Republicans aren't perfect people and have many flaws, but they aren't the vile, sick, psychotic, demented and dangerous creatures that the democrat party has cultivated over the last four decades.
God help us if Republicans ever become like democrats.

Be prepared, be vigilant and know that Jesus is Lord.
