Whoopi Goldberg says she "has to question" Zohran Mamdani's obvious commitment to turning New York City into a communist utopia.

"I like the idea of free child care and Head Start and cheaper groceries for those in need," said Goldberg, "but he also wants to punish people like me, who have a lot of money invested in this city we love."

Goldberg says she'll pay more than ten times in taxes this year than she did last year, and he still wants more.
"I think we made a big mistake electing him."

Whoopi has officially entered the "find out" stage.

The socialists -actually commies- are coming out of the closet. A lot of dems have long leaned that way but wouldn't come out in the open & admit it bc they knew they couldn't get elected. Now we're experiencing a full-court push to take over. They're up in your face & too many people are falling for it

And it's working in blue areas on the dem side, to an impressive if disgusting amount.

The islamists are using the commies as cover, the commies are using the islamists as cover as each tries to establish a power base in American politics. The eventual problem they face is that they're not compatible. In the long run, if they make it that far, they're going to have that division & fight it out. The commies will probably tolerate the islamists to some extent but the islamists are driven by the goal of serving allah & per islam, islam must be the foundtion of government. Period, hard stop

I’ve bashed democrats all my life, and I used to genuinely think they were worse than the republicans. At this point, I view both parties as two wings of the same bird, and both are corrupt as hell.

Democrat candidates at least tell you up front they’re going to screw you. Republican candidates paint a pretty picture during the campaign and screw you behind your back after getting elected.

In almost 40 years of voting, I’ve had to hold my nose many times and cast a vote for a candidate I hated, but I’ve never cast a single vote for a democrat. At this point, not voting seems like a better option, because I don’t think we’re going to vote our way out of the sh*tshow this country is in.

DO THEY REALLY WANT TO TRY THIS AGAIN!!?

Why Socialism Failed in the Early American Colonies

The early English settlements of Jamestown (1607) and Plymouth (1620) experimented with socialist-like systems — communal ownership of land and resources, and equal distribution of produce — but both quickly collapsed under the weight of human nature and practical constraints.

Jamestown’s “Common Store” System
The Virginia Company set up a collective economy where all land, tools, and harvests were owned by the group. Settlers were expected to work together and share equally, with no private property. Captain John Smith’s famous warning — “He that will not work shall not eat” — aimed to enforce labor discipline, but it failed to overcome the lack of personal incentives LinkedIn. Without rewards tied to effort, productivity plummeted. By 1609, the colony faced the “Starving Time,” with food shortages and disease killing hundreds. In 1611, the Virginia Company shifted to private land grants, which boosted farming output and survival Word Foundations.

Plymouth’s Communal Experiment
The Pilgrims initially pooled land, tools, and harvests, expecting everyone to contribute and share equally www.readlucid.com. Governor William Bradford’s records describe confusion, discontent, and reduced work effort. The “tragedy of the commons” played out: some settlers did only the minimum, knowing they’d still get an equal share. Hard work became unprofitable, and food shortages loomed. Bradford noted that the industrious grew resentful of having to work for others’ families, while the lazy saw no reason to improve thedailyeconomy.org.

Why It Failed

  • Lack of incentives: Without personal rewards, effort declined.
  • Human nature: People tend to work only as much as necessary to survive.
  • Resource scarcity: In a hostile, unfamiliar environment, efficiency was critical.
  • Resentment: Hard-working members felt exploited by the system www.readlucid.com+1.
The Turn to Private Property
In both colonies, leaders moved toward private land ownership and free enterprise. At Jamestown, settlers were given plots to farm; at Plymouth, able-bodied families were assigned land in 1623. This shift restored motivation, increased productivity, and brought food security — a key factor in the first Thanksgiving celebration Word Foundations+1.

Lesson
These early experiments show that while socialism can foster cooperation, it struggles without mechanisms to align individual effort with personal benefit. In survival situations, incentives tied to ownership and reward are essential for sustained productivity and community survival LinkedIn+2.
