I live in the heart of the desert in southern nevada. I'm in the market for some new camo. What is everyones opinion on the best pattern for desert.

OUCH!!! LOL! I didn't know old folks could think that fast.

But hey now, I never agreed to quit wearing shorts and it'll just have to be a King's t-shirt.

Thanks for the laugh Jim.

I just picked up a set of Mossy Oak Desert Brush from Sport's Authority. I like the pattern and it is light clothing. It should work all year long for me. I bought everything big enough to fit layers under it when it gets cold. I'm trying it out next weekend on my Elk hunt. Sport's Authority was having a sale too so you may look there.

Either Natural Gear or Prairie Ghost (gone out of business; darn). Looked at King's Desert Shadow at SW but thought it was too BUSY.

NO!!!

When did that happen? I wear both of those and PG is my favorite.

I like Cabela's 3D Seclusion Open Country.

I never see it mentioned here. Is there something I missed?

Too light for my desert. I use the regular Seclusion 3D, NatGear, or old faded other camo. As pointed out, the biggest thing is to break up the form and minimize movement. I had my kids on stand this past weekend and called on in with my daughter wearing a bright pink leapord print shirt (hey, she's a girly girl some times too /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif)

I use both the King's Desert Shadow or the Prairie Ghost. Sorry to hear about P.G. I went to their web site and it looks pretty much shut down. To bad, they made a good product.

one of the biggest disappointments was mossy oak brush camo, in reality it looks kinda like a blob, there just isn't enough breakup to the pattern and it appears as just a blob of color, prairie ghost is the best camo I have ever seen in sage brush, my buddy had a full outfit of it and if he wasn't moving through the sage flat 200 yards out he would not have been seen standing there.

surprisingly the best all around camo for sage brush and cedars is a pattern made by predator camo, its not very popular because its not COOL looking in the stores, but it works and has the breakup needed to not look like a blob, I would also like to try the army's digital pattern and see how it does in sage brush

a friend of mine has a set of desert digital BDUs. you can see him a mile away. especially in sage. now the OD digital might be ok, IMO it looks too light.
