I thought somewhere there was a place that made a conversion kit so you could put a detachable mag on a Remington 700. Anybody have any info available?? This is something I've heard about but can't comfirm.

Yes, the HS precision system works very well from all I've read. Only drawback is an extra HS 10-round magazine will cost you over $100. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/shocked.gif

Thanks for the info. Awful expensive and then says you have to use the HS stock. Now bad reviews, looks like something to stay away from!!!

You don't have to use the HS Stock. You can mount one on a Remington stock but will have to file and grind the opening in the stock to fit.

If you want to get a reliable DM you will have to spend even more money for a Badger DM assembly. The good side about the Badger is that it uses Accuracy International magazines.

In point of fact, probably the easiest way to get a good DM setup is to by and Accuracy International chassis system for the Remington 700 short action. It is a metal frame with plastic skins but costs over $500. At least it is a straight "buy it and bolt it together" solution that you can do for yourself.

You can't fit a Remington DM setup on a regular non-DM receiver without doing some machining to the receiver as they are done differently from the factory.

I put one called a KWIK KLIP in my 30-06 Remington 700 Moutain Rifle. Price was $59.95. The address on the box is Trexler Industries, 95 Southland Drive, Bethlehem. PA 18017.

Mine has worked really good. Pic of product below.
