Diamond Fugitive or Martin Cougar FC

Looking to upgrade my Diamond Rock. I like the Fugitive but can get the Cougar for roughly $140 cheaper. Never had much experience with Martin so figured I would check with you fine fellas.

To add, i pull 70lbs but only a 26" draw so I am trying to maximize the most out of the bow due to my short arms.

If I remember right the cougar has a 7" brace and the fugitive has a 6.5" brace, and the cougar fc is a dual cam vs a single cam and both are 32" ata. I like the bowtech/ diamond line a lot but the longer brace is more forgiving than the shorter ones.

I'm not huge on "speed kills" better than a slower bow shooting bow that is smoother drawing. I know Bowtech/Diamond make good bows and Martin has been making bows for 60+ years. I think either will be good for you but it all depends witch one heels better in your hand.

Are you set on those 2 brands only?

For my money the Diamond but that's just me. When I went on my great bow buying adventue last year I shot about everything I could get my hands on. Settled on a Bowtech Invaion in a 50 to 60# draw weight, but almost got the Diamond. That being said I personally did not find any bad products out there and I shot 12 different brands. I picked what fit me the best. my $.02 worth

I ended up ordering the Cougar for roughly $200 cheaper than the Fugitive. Should be here tomorrow so I can see how it is.

I am not huge on speed but my draw length pretty much settles that for me so I need something with a little more zip to be able to be able to hit longer shots.

If it doesn't work I still have 8 months before deer opens back up so I can always sell and try again. I use a rifle for predators, bows are just my back up for turkey and deer when I don't get drawn for the rifle hunts (which is all too often here in AZ).

Congrats. Let us know on how it works out for you, I was thinking about getting the cougar fc a couple of months ago but I went with an elite

I was torn primarily by the unknown of Martin's quality. Read they had some issues the past few years but everyone seemed to think the 2012 line was free and clear of the issues. I wanted to try one but most of the dealers here have quit selling Martin because of the quality issues and the company being up for sale. Took the gamble so keeping my fingers crossed. Will post back once I get it up and running.
