Dicks Sporting Goods Ammo Purchase

Went into Dick's sporting goods tonight and picked up 3 boxes of ammo and they questioned me like a criminal. Had to show drivers license and say that I was a US Citizen. Has anyone else experienced this? I'm 49 years old, I could understand under age purchases, but this sounds like Oboma Logic, I guess now they are trying to track ammo purchases.

I have a feeling that this CYA kind of stuff is going to ramp up. They're oly looking out to not be questioned in the future, if something like Auroa goes down...

I have not yet seen any issues. But I fear its creating the horizon.

Sounds like an issue with Dicks. I have not been questioned for ammo and all the people I have seen buy ammo have not been questioned. Of course I dont buy at Dicks, they are over priced.
 
I like Dicks for their workout gear and shoes. Not so much in the outdoors stuff. I hope they ain't trying to set a pecidence with this stuff.
 
Thanks for the responses. Checked with some of my buddies local also last night. Seems to be a Dick's problem. I hate it because they were cheaper on the Hornady 55 gr PSP by $3 a box, than my local gun shop. But as always cheaper isn't always better, I won't step back foot in their store.
 
Look forward to more of the same. 2 years amnesty, drivers license for all, and the vote for non U.S. citizens. Please don't forget to vote in November.

But I fear its creating the horizon. just been reading your comments.your not to far from the mark it only takes one or two shootings like aurora for the gun control to jump on it and you will end up as we are in the uk. i even have to get bullet heads put on my licence. you may say it will not happen in the usa but 20 years ago we was saying the same . semi auto rifles banned pistols banned .we only need one more mass shooting in the uk for all guns in private hands to be banned .
 
Well, gotta say the Dicks in Murfreesboro is very shooter friendly and I've never been questioned regarding ammunition purchases.

Gun controll only hinders the law abiding citizens...period. I guarantee, there would be war in the US before this would happen. Straight up, Civil War!

I never have been questioned at the local WM, but the salesman there reconize me and we shoot the bull a little after the purchase. This kinda stuff doesnt surprise me though considering what has happened recently.
 
Dicks is great for ammo purchases especially when they have their buy 1 box, get the second 1/2 off.

That's when I buy those 200-250 Remington UMC boxes and get the second half off.
