difference in CCI 200 and BR primers?

I'm loading up the last of some 60 grain hornadys for my 22-250 and ran out of my standard CCI 200 large rifle primers. I do have a bunch of CCI BR large rifle primers that I could use. Would they shoot the same POI? I'm under the impression that the two have the same charge, with the exception of the BR's being a "select" lot for better accuracy.

Can anyone clear this up for me?

2x on what jack said . The only difference I ever found was
was very little on the chrony but none on paper. Just a thought from a dummy sitting a computer at 1:03 am. Man , I wish I would go back to work!

To be honest, the money...most hunting rifles will never be accurate enough to even tell one little tiny bit.. you'll need to get into the benchrest world to even begin to notice anything and the two sports have nothing whatsoever to do with one another... seems that primers are starting to loosen up a bit and you can actually find most now without going totally nuts, problem is that most of us hoarded when we could and may not need primers for many years, I have enough to last me the rest of my life without question...

OK, I do not want to get a "rumor" going. But, I had heard that the same group that purchased Chrysler has purchased CCI. I also heard that they are anti-gun/hunting. Is there any truth to this? My obvious concerns are going to come with quality and availability down the road.

you are right they just get a 2nd look before packaging other than that very little diff. in them. that being said I use em anyway just incase LOL

"benchrest" quality components aren't nec. better or worse than the standard. The only thing is they *should* be more consistent from 1 to the other. Consistency wins matches. For 99% of the public, you're spending money you don't need to spend. And I'd really wonder if the other 1% isn't wasting theirs. It might just cost and extra buck to print "benchrest" on an otherwise normal box.

OK.....No, CCI is an integral part of ATK and an important part of their business plan distributed to us shareholders. For more info, go to their website:

Personally I've used mostly CCI BR Primers because thats all I could lay my hands on. My last purchase though was Winchester Primers and I have NOT seen any difference whatsoever either in performance or grouping. I say either of the ones you mentioned would work just fine.

I don't think I made my self very clear on my original question.

I was loading the rest of my box of bullets. I usually use CCI 200 primers. I wound up being six primers short to finish up my loads. I did have some CCI BR primers and was just wondering if I loaded the last 6 rounds with the BR primers, would they have a different point of impact versus the standard CCI 200 primers.

From what I gathered from the responses, the charge is the same for the BR's and standard 200's primers. So the POI should be the same.

Thanks for all the help guys and sorry for the confusion! Or maybe I was the only one thats was confused!!!

John, I see that ATK is involved with Federal and RCBS, but I did not see where they were involved with CCI.

Maybe I missed it.
