Digital trail cameras

I've got a Bushnell Trailscout Pro, 5 megapixal, infrared, movies/ still shot, all that stuff. This is my second one. Sent the first one back after getting lots of black pics at night. Come to find out the flash and camera were not in sync. Now after just a little use I'm getting the same thing, lots of black pics at night. Maybe 1 in 10 are any good. Missing a lot of wildlife at night. Some of the night pics will have the reflection of eyes but I'm not able to see anything else but black (flash is working but is too soon or late?) Batteries are good and my time and settings are correct. Anybody else have or heard of any similar problems? It takes pretty good pictures but I'm not too happy with it at this point /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/angry-smiley-055.gif. Need to call Bushnell. What kind of cameras do ya'll like?

I have a camera that the photo is burnt out - too much flash or when the flash fires the shutter is too slow. I will NEVER buy another Moultrie. Your camera MAY be firing the flash okay but, the shutter is too fast in the flash mode. These are all factory setting. So, shutter slow and flash fired, photos are white, burnt out. Shutter fast and flash fired photos black. I have nothing to lose, I will try to adjust mine. No workee in the trashee it will go.

cuddie back...........

ive got two moultrie cameras and both seem to be fine but i like the cuddie back.. yeah its alittle more but i dont have as many blank pictures...(where they take pics of the trees moving or the wind blowing..)...

Yeah, for some reason I was drawn to the Cuddebacks when I started looking again here recently. See them on t.v. quite a bit too, nice features and the pics look good too. I hate being all excited about a memory card full of pics only to find out that they are all black or of the wind blowing /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/angry-smiley-055.gif

if you wait alittle while the new cuddiebacks are coming out.. my local distributor/bowshop told us about november or 1st of december the new ones should be hitting stores...
they will be well worth the wait imho...

I have had 2 wild views, and they are garbage. First one was the older film model and it just decided to stop working with my film insde of it still...second was the wildview 2 digital camera. That one just started bascially becoming mentally retarded. Buttoms wouldn't work right...you would put new batteries in it and it would say that the batteries were low...all kinds of stuff then one day i went and put it in the woods, came back 3 weeks later and it was dead as dead could be...not a picture on card either. So its a peice of garbage now...don't know if i can call them and get it fixed or not. But for sure not buying another one. Neither of the cameras were in the woods for that long. First one was in woods for maybe 3 weeks total for its life, and second camera was in woods a total of 3 months or so for its entire life...stick with cuddieback.

I have a Moultrie thats startin to act up. If and when it does I plan on straping it to a tree on public ground or a heavily hunted section and lettin some unsuspecting theif think they really have somthing.
My next one will have a screen so I can veiw/delete pics in the feild without hauling it home just to see the pics.

smokin i feel your pain wildview is junk mine is doing the same thing put new batteries in ti the next day its says that the batteries are low i have to take the battersies out of it sometimes and put them back in to even get it to work it might end up being a 400 yard target one day lol Ron

Same problem with wildview it losses its situp and just won`t work at times when trying to sit it up with date and time and eraseing pictures from memory. I would look at another brand.

reconyx hands down nothing comes close have bought and sold several other brands this one is faster than any of them and battery life is outstanding buy it and you'll never look back. chasingame.com more info than you could ever need to make up your mind.

i was going to try and contact wildview and see if i could get my money back, but i doubt that will happen. Ill just shoot the camera, take a picture of it, and send it to wildview and let them knew how i feel about camera...haha

I've had real good luck with my Moultrie D-40 camera. About $100 from bass pro. I have taken over 1000 pics with it and it does a great job. Battery life is excellent as well. I'd recommend it to anyone looking for an affordable quality camera.

I have had the same thing happen on my Stealth Cam. Doesn't happen very often at all but I will get a black blank pic at night. The camera was a gift so I didn't get to research Stealth Cams beforehand but so far I really like it. I have taken about 5 thousand photos since April 08. I really like the burst mode feature(multiple pictures per triggering). Does anyone know of any other trailcam makers that feature a burst mode????

If anyone is interested in a quality trail camera, I have some sony 6.0mp and sony 7.2mp game cameras that I build. Easy to operate and battery life is long. Can not beat the quality of sony cameras. Price 250.00-275.00. Also would like to trade for a good electronic predator call. Thanks, Brad Flowers jbflowers58@yahoo.com or pm me here.

Hey bkflow, any chance of posting a pic of those units you make. I didn't figure that one would be too hard to make for someone with a little know how. Using a sony camera and the good resolution sounds great and the price sounds good to those of us who can't afford a Reconyx (not nocking them, just can't afford $600).

I like my steath cam seems to work good it did not have very good reviews on basspro but seems to work good for me.
