DIL first deer with a Compound!!

Well, had to update this…she got her buck!! She’s been on this buck for several weeks now and been getting her butt kicked, lol. This is her first buck with a compound and believe it or not, her biggest scoring buck yet. He weighed in at 217lbs and scored a solid 140”

Good eye…right handed and left eye dominant so she learned to shoot left handed.

First off Congratulations to the DIL.
Fine Buck... She did extremely well yes proud would be a understatement in any man's book.
Loved the stories of her accomplishments.
I sometimes forget the size of the Georgia deer compared to here in Arkansas (we have deer that are usually smaller, although occasionally some are on par).
Always liked the Georgia region, my brother lived in La Grange until he passed in 2010. Having been a Mil Brat yeah, that region of the state and the eastern side, Alabama, Florida, the Carolina's grew up in those areas. Seems like yesterday, but was many decades ago many found memories (most are Ga.).

Not wanting to take away from her, but my son took Ellie Jane to the “backyard” tower stand yesterday evening and he took this 6.5yr old tank with a rifle. We’ve watched this deer since he was 2.5 when he showed up injured. We thought he wouldn’t make it, but he’s been on camera every year since 2021. He had the double spikes and blind eye since that time. Yesterday evening he showed up at this stand.
Tower is where the crosshair is and house to the right. The buck was along the woodline across the spring fed pond.
He said he started to pass and let him live his life out but Ellie was adamant he shoot that Buck, lol. She told me this morning she’s putting his antlers in her room as soon as it’s done. Now this deer was a tank and he had to call for help to load him up!!
