Has any have a very discrete way to remove a cat ?
My neighbors cat is pissing all over our front house and we are sick of it and want to get rid of this pest. Anyone have any disrete methods that I could employ to see that this activity ceases permanently? I can't have any gunshots ring out and I can only drive so far off the road after it.

Do a forum search here at PM using "cat" and see what happens /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

We havent had a cat thread/subject here in quite awhile. Pertnear a month I reckon.

live trap it then remove it.... cant take the chance of the neighbors seeing fluffy with his head in a conibear.... this way if you are busted you can just tell them that you want them ot keep it away from your home...

While the live trap idea is a very good one, why not report the problems to the local Animal Control, ie "the Pound". They may or may not do anything. But it's what I would try 1st. It won't upset your neighbor any worse than killing the cat would, & it would be the legal way of takig careof it.

lol, well you go that way also... after a very bad experiance with them here i will never call them again... they wanted to help me but since it involved larger animals (horses) that i had called about they didnt want to do anything... after I told them that due to lack of being fed these animals were becoming violent and had kicked at me and bit and grabbed my coat... and that if threatened I would shoot them they told me they would have me arrested... go figure.........ps... I had to be there to take care of my horses so staying away was not an option...

If the township has cat leash laws I'd think about live trapping and taking the cat to the authorities. My friend did that one time to a neighbors cat. After that occasion the neighbor decided his cat wasnt worth the citation.

Try some target practice with your bow, after a good miss on the target, put the cat behind the tire of neighbors car. After neighbor backs over cat, tell them they should be more careful with their pets.....

Heard someone did this once

Around here cats are considered wild animals and Animal Control will not do a thing about them. I know Radiator Antifreeze does a number on them. It's sweet and they like the taste. Affects their nervouse system (so I'm told) and crystalizes , killing them. But (so I'm told) until they go belly up makes them crazy. I like the live trap and a large trash can (55 Gallon) full of water (so I'm told). /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused1.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/shocked.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/blush.gif

I might get some heat for this but go to your local sporting goods store and get an air rifle. Has plenty of killing power and mine pretty much as no noise at all. I am a country boy and have never lived in town but a pellet gun is that way I would go. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

There's nothing that I've heard that's quieter than a .22 CB short. But if I were doing it, I'd invest in a have-a-heart trap. From there, drowning them is nice and quiet.

Drowning is nice....... But, if live trapped, another option for consideration is the ol' carbon monoxide trick. Just stick the trap under yer tailpipe with a tarp or cardboard covering. Let idle for a bit and, voila..... A nice dry cat to throw back over the fence into their backyard. Beats the heck out of handling a wet, stinking animal. And no tell-tale drip trail for a suspicious owner to follow ....... If you don't want to return it, you can always put 'em in the trash on pick-up day or toss 'em in a ditch on the way to work. If ol' Fluffy is collared, be sure to save it. It can come in handy for collecting reward money when the infamous neighborhood 'Reward, missing cat' posters appear on the local telephone poles. Have a buddy turn it in with a sad story about how he found the poor critter hit by a car, and collect the cash. Split it with him, and your troubles could be paid for.........Don

That's heartless, ...I like it! Good idea about the Carbon Monoxide, have you ever tried it? I wonder if it's as simple as you say.

If you use a livetrap make sure that it is well hiden, something that looks like a cardboard box works fine, esp. if it is some where in the garage.
A pellet gun is a lot quieter than a 22 loaded with CD shorts (ask me how I know).

yotehunter: Try reporting those horses as abused. There was an idiot up here that seemed to think horses only needed 4 lbs of hay a day, no pasture or grain. Can't remember who seized them but he never got them back and got some jail time over it.

Best disposal solution I ever used was throwing it next to the road. Let them think it was hit by a car. Maybe the next one won't be allowed to roam.
