I did somne experimentation with a Lee crimp die and concluded that it seems to help accuracy a little and certainly doesn't hurt anything. I now crimp all rounds for my AR's.
The crimped rounds might hit a tiny bit higher but I don't know for sure because I can't shoot consistantly good enough to tell. A half inch difference in point of impact doesn't mean a lot in my world.
Shooting paper without it crimped my gun will shoot a 5 shoot group can cover easy with a dime. I will load up 5 rds crimp them and see how it does. I got my new ar lead sled today. Can't wait to try it out plus I have to sight my 300 wby in to. VM
