Do you enjoy watching thermal videos?

I'm learning a lot from them. Only recently started nite hunting yotes. Hogs are different. So I learn when to shoot and how they react. Don't have a caller so it's just sitting and watching.

Meh? Not so much for the visual aspects. Like popper43 pointed out though, they can be used as a learning tool for some if enough information is given of how the hunt went down.

I think the bigger thing though is that folks just want to share their experiences and successes with likeminded people. Nothing wrong with being proud of success and wanting to share a visual. And you have to admit, when guys like Jeremy post a video, it’s pretty dang impressive.

All this to say, I prefer daytime videos, but I’ll watch thermal videos as well.

I do and I post them for the reason in the next sentence. When I was getting into this game, I learned more about coyote movements/behavior by watching "kirsch's" vids in a few months than I could have in years of hunting back here in PA.
If our critters responded in the daylight, I would much prefer hunting them then but that is not a good investment in my time back here. I do thoroughly enjoy watching them respond in daylight but not so much under bright lights.

I would much rather see good day time hunting videos or "Night Crews videos" where the coyotes are lit up with their powerful lights.
I agree wholeheartedly. I understand most are amateur videographers but day or night, many just drag on too long. MFK, Foxpro, Lucky Duck and those couple of South Dakota ranchers are about all I watch. Something new comes along I’ll give it a try but if it drags on or blares loud music, I’m gone

Daytime for me. I do thermal hunt but definitely appreciate a good day hunt way more. It’s much more productive around these parts at night by far. Would rather shoot or watch 1 in the daytime than 5 at night. But enjoy all videos if nothing else to possibly learn a little something.👍

i wonder why PA coyotes dont like responding in day time like they do in some other states.

I like watching all kinds of hunting videos but thermal vids just don’t do it for me, and I’m not sure why? What say you?
Not really. You miss the experience in the video. The background, the colors, the yote working in to the caller. With thermal videos all you see is the killing, a white or black animal and a dot or crosshairs. It’s entertaining in its own way, but doesnt really do it for me

Seeing how I just hunt at night, I like the thermal videos. It’s really a simplicity issue for most, almost every thermal records so it’s easier when you hit the record button.
I don’t have a daytime recording scope, and don’t know of many that do. I have a hard enough time trying to kill them without manning a camera and a gun.
It also seems you see the coyote all the way to the shoot with thermal. Most “amateur” daytime videos are basically the last seconds before the shot.

I also hate music during hunting videos. As soon as the music starts I stop watching.

That is why if I remember to hit 'record' and am not in a 'tight' place (which many of mine are) some of my vids tend to be on the long side showing more of the critter coming in and not just the BANG. Others such a Double Up tend to lean the same way. Hoping the teach as Kirsch taught me, maybe not the sounds to use cause what works today may not work again for a year but about the quarry's reactions, etc.

Does very little for me. Skinny and the O'Neil opps guys have put together some decent videos that I have watched but besides that I skip through any thermal or night video.

Not my cup of tea nor is night hunting in general. Unpopular opinion but I think night hunting is for people that don’t want to work for a coyote.

If I didn’t night hunt I wouldn’t get too many opportunities. I still have to work for a living and the day job doesn’t leave a lot of daylight for me to get any hunting done except on weekends.
