Does anyone watch Predator Quest with Les Johnson?

I love predator quest!!!!! "lets take a look at that coyote"
Like wysongdog said he is a coyote killing machine. It is obvious that some of the shots are redone. However to me it looks like the camera man just gets up and moves then Les does what he just did 30 seconds ago. This way the viewer can see several different angles and they have different shots to edit with. Then Les isn't toting three or four camera men across open country to every stand. I think that makes it a better fit for a TV show. Like someone else said I think you can get away with alot more movement than some may think IF it is done when you can see the coyote, watch his body language and only move when he won't see you. Then be ready to take the shot if you get busted. I also think Les is a great asset to the sport of predator calling for sure.

Les has that southern boy drawl and easy going nature. I love his reaction when he misses a shot. "I don't know what happenned thar!"

LOL, thats just the way all Nebraskan farmboys talk... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grinning-smiley-006.gif

Les is a real "Stand up" guy! Great videos, informative and entertaing. And when it comes to kids, he is one of the best.

Les is the man...he took time to reply to an email I sent asking for advice when he could have just as easily ignored it. Besides, anybody who uses the phrase "lo and behold" can't be all bad.

I love watching PQ.
The only problem is that its on at 4am on Saturday here. That and I have no sound on my computer. Makes getting into the .com episodes difficult.

My only beef with the show is that I only ever see three or four different episodes. I record them all looking for new ones but I have yet to find a different one in the last couple or three months.

Quality-wise, I like the show a lot.

His coyote skin hat doesn't impress me much. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif He does seem like a nice guy and I do watch his show but I need more than two kill shots per episode it can be a little slow for me. All in all I like him though.

I have direct TV and it just moved from 611 to 608. Really though the biggest thing I don't like has nothing to do with the actuall show. Its the [beeep] enzyte /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif commercials. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

I guess they figure all you ol' cooters wouldn't be out in the field so much if your "gun" was little bigger! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif Now everytime I turn the TV off I have that stupid tune in my head! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smiliesmack.gif

Just buy his DVD's. They are all the episodes in one and they are 3 dvd packs. At least a good 4 hour chunk of time watching them. Get Best of the Quest 1 and 2 and you will have all his episodes up to this last season of shows. He said Best of the Quest 3 will be coming out soon. Said it is at the duplicators right now or something to that matter.

I agree that some of the cut-ins are cheesy but [beeep] its made for TV. I think he has the best footage out there for as far as close shotgun shots. When you are watching the coyote and he sits up to shoot and he is in between the camera and the Coyote you can see how close he is to the coyote. Its priceless. Very nice guy to boot.

And those are a shame. My teenage daughter is an avid hunter. I picked up a Field and Stream and Outdoor Life in the dentist's office the other day and was SHOCKED at the ads in the back. I've taught my daughter to be a modest, respectful young lady and there's NO WAY she's going to read those magazines or watch those TV shows. Neither are my two young boys. They'll learn to do exactly what I do and that's turn the TV off or put the magazine down.

the only thing-in my personal opinion- that distracts from the video(s) is the soundtrack. i would rather hear the wind, grass crunchin from squirmin around.......the sounds we all hear while we hunt. i have noticed that more and more dvds are trending towards this type of soundtrack music but thats hollywoodism for ya. maybe if the volume is toned down to a level that........ahh,guess i am gettin long in the remaining tooth i have.

I second that. I don't even listen to music on my way hunting. I listen to silence and let my ears get rested for the hunt.

hey mr highplains
i think you should start a thread (and let's see the reaction)
regarding advertisements on tv and in sporting mags
funny
there are warnings on the graphic nature of hunting something
but
not on the graphic hips and bust of the actress swaying for her man using a male enhancer
could be interesting

I watched it today. What model rifle is he shooting?

That is funny. You must have watched an earlier episode. His new series he mention what model of everything up to and including his underwear. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

His gun he used to use was a remington 700 22-250. Now that he is sponsered he is using the howa axiom with a recoil reducing knoxx stock chambered in 22-250. Though I thought he mentioned he was using a 204 in one episode. Niko-Sterling scope blah blah blah

I love his show and les seems like a great down to earth guy, he just really plugs the sponsors, which I guess they are paying the bills, it just cracks me up.

I watched one show. I thought he made two mistakes, but then one could have been an added scene. Walking to a calling stand on the top of the local ridge, instead of a lower position. But, then I guess we couldn't see what the surrounding scene was either, to see if it was ok to walk that far up.
Another is you shouldn't call if they are within 400yds, and can see your position, that coyote bolted, as soon as he did that.

I've got his DVD's and love those too but, unless there is something different with hunting shows, TV shows survive on ratings. No ratings, no show; no show, no DVD's.
