I have a Colt HBAR2 16" AR-15 chambered in 223. I also have a Winchester Model 9422M .22Mag lever action. Both should be fine medicine for coyotes and bobcats. However , the .223 is considerably louder than the .22Mag. Is there an advantage to the quieter weapon if I miss or does it really not even matter. Will a coyote tend to hang around longer if the guns are quieter? I love my .22Mag because its so handy and it doesn't leave my ears ringing like my Colt can. By the way, I do wear my ear protection. That AR15 is just so loud. Thanks guys.
