Does your dog hate Coyotes?

After I saw the Black Lab post it got me thinking. I wonder how many dogs hate Coyotes? I have a 100+ pound German Shepherd who although is a big softie, hates Coyotes. He loves to play with other dogs, is a big kisser when it come to people. (He's also a big baby, but now's not the time to get into that) But goes friggin' ballistic when he see's a 'Yote! He's a totally diffrent dog. Barks, (He's not a barker at all) growls, bares his teeth and just wants to kill the thing!

Okay, I'll shut-up now.

Well he's a German Shepherd, its in his breeding to "hate" and become agressive towards wild dogs. He was developed in Germany so that Sheep hearders could leave their flocks loosly attended if at all and now worry so much about wolves. I would imagine all the hearding breeds are this way, the Belgium Shepherd, Great Pyrynees, Bermese Mountain Dog, Collies, Border Collies, Catahoulas...etc. All of these should have this characteristic to a certain extent as long as its not been diluted due to over breeding.

I have a german shepard and she helped me kill my last coyote. The coyote was coming into my backyard and I heard her barking the way she does when other dogs come around so I knew something was up. Thanks to her I was able to kill my chicken thief and she got a well deserved Raw hyde bone and a bag full of treats for it. Even though if she got loose she would kill every chicken I have. Oh well funny how things work out.
