Dogo Argentino Mastiff

I think that these would be great dogs for hunting. They were breed for dog fighting, boar, and jaguar. They are silent on track and will grab ahold of a hog. They aer classified as mastiff but were breed for hunting. I wonder if they can tree. Now that would be cool going to a coon huntign tournament with a huge mastiff dog.

I had a client when I lived in Mn,that raised them. His were well trained, but big,(even by my standards).
I have seen them used in Tx for catch dogs,on hogs.I killed my biggest hog with a knife over a Dogo x pit cross.
As for A dogo killin a yote? They would do it easy, as will many other dogs.
 
dogos are the best all around catch dogs i have ever hunted with, but there usually 500-1000 dollers a pup from proven hunting lines thats a little to expensive for a catch dog in my book
 
Ya those dogs are huge, my buddy had one that he sold to a guy in texas to use as a catch dog.

Ya i do i just want to learn as much as posssible and like dogs that you don't see everyday for hunting. I live in Iowa and if i took one of them coyote hunting alot of people would just stare i like being diffrent and having dogs that most people don't even know exsist is a great start.
 
Where are you at in Iowa? If i was you i would buddy up to one of the cur guys in your area. Lots of good coon, and coyote hunting in Iowa. [beeep] if ya make good enough friends with someone they may even let you keep your dog on their land. Most hunter i know are more than willing to give a young hunter a helping hand, thats how we keep the sport going.
 
The guy that I bought my Blackmouth Cur from would take his Presa Canario out with his cur to chase coons every now and then. He said that there was not much left of the hide once he showed up.

I live in Fairfield Iowa. I have some friends that coon hunt and im going to try to go with them. I know there are lots of coons and some big ones too my dad got one that weighed 70 pounds. I have some river bottom ground to hunt to.
 
I have had both a dogo and a ridgeback, asked about in your other post. They were both from hunting lines. Not sure one was any better than the other. Great pets at home but both hated pigs.
 
Oh ok thanks i never knew that. But around here it wasn't very warm most of this winter and fall. It was below 20 or 40 degrees the weather is screwed up. I was deer hunting in a sweat shirt when usullay i have to wear 4 or 5 layers at the end of that day it was 20 degrees.
