DOJ Opens Path to Restore Federal Gun Rights for 30 Million Americans

I think when they keep people down in the system there is no incentive to be more prodctive so you have a lot of people who figure they have nothing to loose anyways.

This topic always reminds me of the book called Three Felonies A Day about how there are so many laws that most people unknowingly break laws designed to get people into the system. I'm not talking about violent people murderers and rapists, but those who made a mistake and paid a big price for it.

I think this is a step in the right direction. If we continue down the road we're on now the left will eventually make us all criminals the way it is today. All we have to do is look at the gun laws the marxists keep implementing in blue states.

Perhaps we ought to take a serious look at repealing the 1968 GCA and or the 1934 NFA.

Mixed feelings on this one... especially when it comes to Felons.

Our legal system in theory, and in part, is based on perceived consequences. Citizens evaluate the pros and cons of criminal behavior and assess a risk vs. reward outcome. Remove or dilute the penalties of an outcome, where's the incentive to comply with societies standards of behavior?

The flip side to this I admit is the classification of some offenses as "Felony" level offenses... I get it.

Bottom line... for 65 years I've resisted temptation, and believe you me I've had plenty, I don't see why others have found it so hard to do the same.

I strongly disagree that White Collar Criminals who committed Felony level financial crimes get a pass because of some "non violent" exception. Well... what about the lives ruined by those financial crimes? Someone ate the loss.

With that said... STRICTLY regulated, I think the idea has merit... so don't flame me too bad.

In 57 years of life, I’ve only had one speeding ticket, so if they’re willing to let a convicted felon have a gun, a law abiding citizen like myself shouldn’t have to jump through hoops to own a suppressor or short barrel rifle/shotgun.
