Double beard yay or nay

Killed a decent tom a week ago. 24lb. 9.5" beard and 1/4" spurs. His beard looks a little different to me. You can see the seperation were it connects to the bird but the rest looks normal. Both are the same length when straitened out. The one pic i seperated it. Arent double beards different lengths usually?

To me it's more of a deformity since they seemed attached at the base. Maybe the result of an injury or just bad genes. Just my opinion but a great bird either way.

Here's a triple I shoot a few years ago, thought it was a double until I got it home for pictures and the smaller beard was actually 2 smaller ones.

Double beard. The cuticle around the base of the second beard appears to be circumferential in the pics. Congratulations!

Kizmo could be right, I see the space in the second and third pics now. First pic looked like they were joined. Get him scored and registered with the NWTF, if he's a double beard he'll score well. My bird was number 15 in NY at one time.

I had a double beard come in about 10 years ago that looked like yours with two thick beards but you could easily see it had two beards. He was to my right and I couldn't swing because of trees, he went behind a pine tree and snuck out never to be seen again, I was heartbroken at the time.
