DPMS Recon or Daniel Defense M4 V5?

I can't decide which one to get. Price is closely the same. I will be using the AR for coyote hunting. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

I don't know anything about DPMS but the DD rifles are very nice. They go the extra step and have quality parts. Little things like MP test the barrels and bolts, properly staked gas keys.

They have a loyal following. Can't see ya going wrong with a DD

Daniel Defense gets my vote. Also, I remember seeing where they are now offering a line of rifles strictly for predator hunting. I can't think of the brand right now, but it is basically a division of Daniel Defense that they created just to offer guns for predator hunters. The guns come dipped from the factory and look pretty nice.

I have the Recon. If you have any specific questions, beyond me saying that it is a very nicely put together and great shooting gun, fire away.

Someone told me the same thing about there line of predator rifles and didn't know where to find them. I'll keep looking. Let me know if you find out more about that. Thanks

The biggest question I have is about accuracy. What shoud I expect group wise? I will be reloading. I used to have a RRA Predator Pursuit that shot as good as a bolt action. Thanks

DPMS, makes a very accurate .223 AR. One of my Bro's has a 16" Heavy Barrel Stainless. Shooting prone useing "factory ammo". He could shoot touching clover leaf groups @ 100yrds.

I would look into a rifle from Specialized Dynamics. For about the same amount of money you will spend on those you can get a custom from Scott that will better suit your needs. You can even get it in an alternate caliber if that intrests you. PM me if you are intrested and we can talk about how you want the rifle built to fit you. Options are unlimited, and accuracy will be the least of your worries..;)

I have a Bushnell holo on it now so tiny groups are impossible. When I first got it I put a scope on it and it shot sub MOA groups with loads I had worked up for other guns. I never played around with fine tuning anything for it because I knew the Bushnell was going on it and it would be pointless. I can't think of a thing I would change about it for what I want it to do.

It's called Ambush Firearms.

You will be very happy with the Ambush 5.56 AR

It's a good shooting and well made AR15. I bought one recently and have been using it at the range. It will shoot Remington 55 grain Accutip bullets well. It also shoots the Hornady 68 grain HP bullets well.

I shot several different types of bullets in it two days ago at the rifle ranage and every bullet was in the bulls eye at 100 yards.

I also tried the Hornady 55 grain Max V bullets and they shot a little higher up in the bulls eye at 100 yards.

It opens up a little more at 200 yards but it's harder to hold the 16x power scope cross hair on the target at 200 yards. At least it's harder for me to hold steady at 200 yards.

I was using a Nikon M-233 scope 4 x 16 x 42 with the 600 BDC reticle.

This rifle is well made and of excellent quality IMHO. I did a lot of research and Daniel Defense impressed me the most for the price.

Also the Gun store that I bought my Ambush from lowered the price by $300 so I jumped on this gun when it went on sale. I was afraid that someone else would buy it before I did.

I've had it to the rifle range twice now and have been shooting various ammo though it. Remingtion Accutip v, Federal 5.56, Hornady 55 and 68 grain, and a few more Remington PSP and UMC ammo. The only shell I didn't like very much was the Remington PSP bullets. They don't shoot very good with the 1:7 twist 18" barrel on my gun. The points on the PSP bullets deforms easily.

Without question Daniel Defense makes the higher quality product. Daniel Defense is renown for making high quality AR's DPMS is not. Get the Daniel Defense.
