Hey,
Was at my buddies farm in NE Missouri the past few days turkey hunting and seen his drip torch. Got to have one real bad. Where is the best place to get one and the lowest cost. Thanks a bunch.
Randy

Randy, contact your local forestry service. They will get you the info on who and were to get one. Be warned, they aren't cheap. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif

Why, it's the handheld version of a Heli-Torch, that's what!

(Now THAT would be a cool --er, rather make that HOT-- toy to have.)

CB, A drip torch is a 'jug' that has a long spout. The spout has a loop in it and at the end is a wick that burns. AS you turn the jug over, the fluid (we use diesel) runs over the wick and ignites, basically pouring fire. We use them to back burn when we burn pasture in the spring. I hope this helps. CrossJ

We (VFD) use a propane weed burner. A 20lb(?) propane bottle carried on a pack frame with the flame thrower head. About $20.00 not including bottle.

Thanks Leadpoison! That is the cheapest price I have seen. These drip torches are the cats meow or the coyotes howl when it comes to burning off. Randy

here is a picture of a driptorch for those that dont know, which i took out of a fire fighting manual, all our trucks are equiped with them they are an essential part of bush fire fighting to create fire breaks.
on the subject of lighting fires, i saw the other day the national (s)parks and wild(fire)life service have incindaries that they fire from a 12 gauge shotgun to start the fire... now i know what i want for xmas lol.
as for driptorch fuel, its either kerosene or a diesel petrol mix...
