Dropped another one, then lost my remote lol

Made a couple stands just after dark again tonight, on the first stand I got circled and winded, but the second stand went according to plan. Until I packed up to leave and left my remote in the corn field somewhere. Hopefully I can find it tomorrow, but I do have a spare if not.

Nice......I turned blue waiting for the shot.....😄

I try to police my area before I leave, making sure I don't leave anything.

Luckily, I haven't had to make a return trip......yet.

I did have to backtrack a couple hundred yards once in Mt. to find my stadium seat that slipped from it's restraint off my pack.

Thanks guys. Lol Alf, and I'm going to come up with a better remote system, right now I just clip it onto my rifle sling as it's sitting on the tripod. That's a handy spot but sometimes I forget it's there, and grab the rifle and the remote falls off. Usually I hear it hit the ground but not this time. I'm heading over to find it shortly as it's not far from home lol. I need a new one actually as both my Revolt remotes have some issues but the call is getting old also and I can't decide whether to update the call or just spring for another remote.

I use magnetic bicycle cell phone holders for the remote. They come with a 2.25" x 1.50" magnet that sticks to the back of the remote.

I had a Lucky Duck caller last year that the magnet on the tripod was enough to hold it just from the batteries.

Somewhere up there a remote of mine is on a Jeep trail under snow. Left it on the spare tire at the back of the Jeep while taking a leak. lol
I need to stop setting things there and driving off. Not the first time but hopefully the last!

Wife and I went out and found my remote, so for now I have a velcro strap around the leg of the tripod I can clip the remote onto. Even if I forget it, it should stay put lol.

Like alf, i also am blue. Remote in a cornfield sounds kinda like a needle in a haystack—-better go play the lotto.

Something i do with all my gear is put small pieces of red or white reflective tape on all sides of everything. Upon breaking a stand and turning on my headlight a quick scan will find anything dropped.

Good thinking!

I finally did that a couple years ago on the Foxpro.

Works great except for the one time I had the FP on top of a clump soy bean duff, and it fell off the back side upside down. I had a hell of a time trying to find it. The remote wouldn't pick up the signal, and nothing to reflect the light off of. After laying down an ungodly amount of scent, I finally found it. Went back to my hide and called one in, which immediately skedaddled when he caught my scent. Luckily I howled him to a stop and closed the deal.

Yup, Ive been there. I lost a TX1000 remote and Foxpro wants $200 for a new one. I just purchased a new caller instead.

Then I connected the remote to a Keybak. You know one of those retractable keys holder that attach to your belt. And guess what…

It got stuck in the door jam when I got into my truck and I slammed the door shut on it, actually slammed the door on it several times because I couldnt figure out why the door wouldnt closed. Oops.

Now my remote is tethered to my tripod.

Is it rude that I laughed out loud? 😄

What brand are those magnet attachments @alf. That looks like the perfect set up, one less thing to worry about loosing in the dark.
This one....Wixgear #255:

Tonight I hung it from a lanyard around my neck. It worked ok although I also have the scanner hanging there from a bino harness. I tuck the remote into my coat.

Put down 5 tonight between the two of us and were done by 10pm. I'll post a couple videos tomorrow.
