Well, I got to the range yesterday with the new DTech 6mm DTI upper to fireform some brass, break-in the barrel and work on some loads. All I have to say is this rifle is amazing...it liked almost everything that I put thru it. I shot 20, 4 shot groups at 100 yds and not a single one was over an inch.
I found a couple of great starting points for 80gr Nosler BT's and for 75 vmax's.
specs on the rifle:
6mm DTI upper, 22" fluted 1 in 10 twist with linear compensator
Tactical innovations lower
dpms lower parts kit
bushmaster 2-stage switch
VLTOR EMOD stock
Harris pod
Vortex Viper 6.5-20
Carnimore Tiger Negative paint
I loaded up some 75 vmaxs and 80 nos bt's...powder for the testing was H4895, TAC and AA2230.
H4895, as is usually the case for me, shot the best.
all groups are 4 shots because I used the 5th of all my loads just getting on paper since the scope was new.
This first group has 3 in the same hole with a flier high left...still a .508 4 shot group.
This group was from my 223 bushmaster predator...it was a good group so I threw it in here...one of my favorite 69 loads.
Overall I am extremely happy with the DTECH, can't wait to wring it out more. Got to go, all this typing is cutting into my loading time.
