Ducks at a Distance download

Tackdriver, thanks for the link. The Ducks at a Distance booklet has been around for at least 30 years. I've used it in my hunter ed courses for that long. The pocket size version is handy as a guide in the field since it will fit in a shirt pocket. I can't believe they are only 3 bucks.

In the hunter ed courses , students seem to get most in a dither over waterfowl identification. They seem to get buried in all the colors etc.In fact color is probably the least reliable tool to use in the field in a hunting situation.

For hunters it is easier to identify a half dozen or so target species to start with, and don't shoot the rest. In time the rest will become more familiar even though you wouldn't shoot them.
