Duel light system.....?

I've read this thread several times and I've decided on a Light Force 170.

It seems that many recommend 2 lights, one for panning and one for the rifle. In one of the old posts I read one time, (i can't find it any more) someone had a lightforce on their rifle and a Y connection to hook to a head lamp from the same battery.

I would like more details from someone who has done something similar. The whizzard II seems like a good buy for a head lamp , but it is a 6v system and the light force is 12. To sum it up I need a head lamp that can run off of my lightforce battery, because I don't want to carry 2 batteries. I also don't want to buy 2 light force lights because of the cost and because I don't want my panning light to be handheld or tripod mounted, I want a hands free system.

Thanks in advance for your suggestions.

You can get the Y connectors at pretty much any auto parts store... or electronic store. I had gotten mine at radio shack.

Another tip... but not absolutely necessary. I have gotten one of the belts with the suspenders from nitelite to carry my battery. This is comfortable enough that am considering buying another battery... connecting them to provide even longer runtime.

When you get your 170 be certain to get the rheo-stat... it will let you adjust the brightness of the light for your needs... thereby providing longer battery runtimes.

What about the 12v / 6v issue. Without using another light force light what type of headlamp do you recommend. Can you put a 12v bulb in the wizard? or do you use some other brand of headlamp?

Thanks

Dave

No... I have two lightforce lights... one 170 (Gunmount) and one handheld on a small tripod (18"). I had used a headlamp in combination with the gunmount lamp and had gotten mixed results. I find the tripod light and gunmount work well for me.
