E Arthur Brown barrel?

Yeah getting kinda mixed results. A friend of mine has one of their falling block pistols and its very accurate. So I don't know what to think.

They are not lapped, plan on de coppering every 9-12 rounds for the first 600 rounds at least.

As I understand it, Browns barrels are made for them by Shaw barrels. Check Shaw site for a Savage replacement barrel, may save some money. Much more variety of cartridges and contours available direct from Shaw. However, expect it to take up to 16 wks to get a barrel from Shaw. Have a Shaw Savage replacement barrel in 6.5x55 Swede on a Stevens 200. While not a one holer at 100 yds, shoots decent 3/4" 4 shot 100 yd groups consistently and sometimes 1/2" groups. I've not had a bad problem with copper fouling with the Shaw barrel. Mine is their lower cost chrome molly barrel in heavy magnum contour. Price with shipping is just under $200 for it.

As to Shilen barrels, gents I shoot with on a regular basis have used Shilen barrels with good success and have even visited their plant. Their stainless steel barrels are hand lapped, not sure about the chromemolly ones.
