New to this site - thought I'd post one - Went hunting Pheasant yesterday in Yuma County, Saw plenty of birds now that the corn has been mostly cut, most of them were out of range but they are out there in the crp now. Madge, my dog did great for her first real outing. Not sure how to post a picture on this thing yet - will post one once I figure it out.

One of my buddies lives up around Yuma, and his Uncle lives in Yuma. He said that he's been seeing alot of birds up there lately.

There were a good number of hens - that I believe makes all the difference in the long term to keep the numbers up. Plenty of roosters too - missed two I swear should have dropped but hey, that's what hunting moving quarry is all about!! me and the dog had a blast - literally

also - should have taken my 30.06 - I saw at least 5 coyote throughout the day- one was well within 100yds of the truck just trotting by like he thought he was invisible - next time its going

What grain do you shoot out of your 30-06? I had bought those .55 grain bullets at one time but I only shot a few of them. I then got a .223.

150 grain and 180 grain - got 'scoped' between the eyes by the 180 grain bullets it left a cresent shaped scar hehe - what a kick - won't under estimate it again !

OK - lets see if this pic populates from my web server...

She is a great dog - still young but was easy to train and has great stamina. Heading out for Holyoke area early Saturday morning to see if we can find some more birds. Taking my 30.06 in case a coyote shows up as well.
