eastern coyotes vs western coyotes

I think a coyote is a coyote.....However, I think the variance in terrain is what makes the biggest difference in the eastern and western landscape. In the west, its wide open. For instance, here in Cali, its not uncommon for me to set down and call and be able to see 2 miles or more. In the east, thats probably not the norm. Its prob not even close to the norm. Hardwood patches, ravines and brush make calling much different than calling them in wide open terrain you can see for miles.

6mm06 I was hunting beside a mega power line from above on a hill.. that is right behind a county dump... there is many yotes just so much food at the dump.. we have had a range finder up there also.. you can see around 400 yrds one way and about 175 the other..

they are not interested in any calls or anything it seems...

When you say you know him.....you saying this prodigy lives in NW Georgia? I would have thought 40 coyotes was a lot for a trapper around here.

Nice write up on Ole Glenn.I don't even know him but I'm certain I'd like him. Don't know if you noticed or not Jay, but in his pic he is sure camo'd up. I would note that I wholeheartedly agree that camo is not a necessity. Killed many a coyote wearing jeans and a tee shirt. Coyotes are looking for movement more than anything else.
