Hey RileyDog

Welcome to the site /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/ooo.gif

There are several of us in Eastern Wa. that hunt, what are ya looking for and what areas of E. Wa do you plan on hunting? I'm south of Cheney several others are in the Spokane, Wenatchee, Tri Cities and Yakima areas.

Specific questions are easier to answer rather than general ones so don't be shy /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grinning-smiley-006.gif

Used to be lots of good spots just outside of the Tri Cities now it's just housing developments! Lots of coyotes on the east side. Horse Haven Hills can be good. Lots of private land but I've found permission easy to get when owners find out you're hunting coyotes. Also try along banks of all the major rivers, Yakima, Columbia, Snake, etc.Lots of BLM land and Army Corp of Engineers. Check your regs because some have gun restrictions. River banks can be really brushy and a 12 guage with #4 buck shot works great.

RileyDog,

I live in Kennewick and have quite a few spots that are 30 minutes or less from my house. You could pretty much get in your rig and drive in any direction for 20 to 30 minutes and be in good coyote country.

Another thing I have done is contact Fish and Game and ask about public hunting areas. When I did that they sent me all kinds of free maps and places to go hunting, inlcuding BLM land along the river.

But like said earlier you don't have to drive very far to find places to hunt.

You might try Juniper Forrest for starters. It's only about 20 minutes from Richland.

Hey thx guys for the info, Like i said im pretty new to this and reading some of your guys post im getting real excited about the challege.. me and my boss are looking for something to pass the time, but from the looks of it i could turn this into a full time thing.. Just one more question.. what do most of you guys do with your hides when you are done, Im not looking to sell them or anything, just dont want them to go to waste, and hopefully i come across the right one to take to the taxidermist.. Thx again Joe

He's safe with me. The way I've been shooting I'd probably miss him too.

Yes, but with every "bird" they flip you ..... there's another broadside shot.

I think I'll try my '250 tommarow!

I was thinking of heading over to the wenatchee area on Monday. How much snow have they got on the east side. Was thinking about bringing the sled but not sure if I need it.
