Elitexc mma Sat nite/CBS

I know there are several fans here of mma fights.This Sat nite on CBS we will see Kimbo Slice fight Ken Shamrock. Also fighting are Gina Caranno.Ninja Rua, and Andre the pit bull Arloski. Should be a good evening.
 
Cool, thanks for the reminder. I'm not real into the fights, but I read an article once about Kimbo Slice and I always wanted to see him fight. I think at night, when Mr. T. goes to bed, he checks under the bed for Kimbo Slice. That guy is one bad mutha!!

I want that 2 hours of my life back. I've seen his youtube fights but I wanted to see him in something a little more professional.....this wasn't it. You must have seen a different one than I did. That wasn't a slip. Kimbo was in la-la land when the ref called it. Did you see him trying to wrestle with ref after? He didn't even realize it wasn't the other guy. Kimbo didn't take a very good punch.

There is a big difference in fighting a pro and some street punk.

Shamrock got a cut under his eye in practice before the fight so this Petrocelli was the replacement.

Duckdog, Kimbo is all a publicity stunt! The dude is big and scary looking, but he is not in the class of the better proffessional fighters. His first 3 fights were against has beens and never would be's. He got his a$$ handed to him tonight and it wont be the last time! Elite and CBS will probably pair him with more of these no name fighters just to ride out the cash cow that kimbo has become. When they put him against good fighters I beleive he will be dominated most of the time. Kimbo never was and will never be a great fighter like CBS and Elite are trying to label him. He is a streetfighter plain and simple, and hes to old to learn and execute the skills he needs to get to the top in this sport. Just my opinion but Ive watched a LOT of MMA and Ill bet $$$ on what I just said!

Don't get me wrong. I'm not in any way insenuating that Kimbo IS a badazz. He definately looks like one. I don't know much about MMA or Ultimate fighting but I do know my own eyes and the kick that was suposed to have put him in "la la land" didn't even connect. Heck, half the punches the other guy threw after he fell didn't even connect. I think he wasn't protecting his face because he is just a "thug street fighter". I agree, they're probably just using him as a cash cow and he probably won't ever amount to much in the ring, but no one will ever convince me that this fight needed to be called 14 seconds in.

Ill tell you what I seen, white boy was back peddling preparing for an azz whoopin when one of his wild jabs landed just right and down goes Kimbo! Did you see the slow motion after Kimbo went down? White boy couldnt land a blow to save his life, o.k. I think he landed one when Kimbo was on the mat! That boy was lucky and knows it!
 
Ya it was the right hand that put him out, not the kick. I thought that too, but you have to watch the slow-mo replay and you will see what happened. Kimbo was out, if you let a fight go on after someone is in that state, thats when people die or get brain damage. Gina is smoking hot!!!!!!!!!!
 
It appeared to me that Kimbo took either an very hard elbow, or forearm to the back of the head (illegal) after he was down (viewed in slo-mo). That IMO took away any chance / hope for him to continue.

Did anyone else notice this?

The ref allowed a few very hard legal punches to Kimbo after the illegal blow, and IMO the ref was negligent in not stopping the fight immediately after the illegal blow. i.e. the illegal blow should have been the last punch of the fight.

For those that saw the Frank Shamrock / Renzo Gracie fight where Shamrock was DQ'd for an illegal knee to the back of the head, neck area of Gracie, the shot that Kimbo took to the back of the head last night was MUCH, MUCH harder than what Shamrock delivered to Gracie.

Anyway, that's the way it appeared to me. I'll be interested to watch it again in slo-mo to either confirm if that's what happened, or not.

Kimbo will not fight again on any card that matters, because none of the legitimate fighters will want to share a card with him after this(it's a money thing). The circus is over boys, it's time for the professionals to regain the spot light.

I'll throw my opinion in here too /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif Kimbo isn't even close to a well rounded fighter and isn't even in the same class as the big boys.
