Enter the Darkness

The twilight was receding into total darkness, and the hunters and prey were about to begin their life and death struggle for survival. Enter the darkness and sometimes, often times in nature, the hunter becomes the hunted. For some humans, hunting in the darkness is a daunting task filled with a twinge of outright fear. For others, the nighttime is the right time and they relish the quiet solitude and the awesomeness of God's creation. Thermal allows one to see all the animals moving in the darkness, and it is often a vast array of both predators and prey seeking to hold onto life and survive each day. Into this space we intrude upon the predator's territory aiming to keep him in check. Coyote is wise and by late February isn't so easily fooled except for the need to procreate. We play his tune, and love is in the air. He falls with instant death, but soon another will take his place, and another. Finally, an intruder realizes he is in another's territory and tries to make a run for it. Unfortunately for him, he rushes headlong toward a swift death from a 50 gr. V-max as the crosshairs settle on his chest. While his forward momentum propels him onward his life is quickly flowing from his body. Coyote is a worthy adversary and deserving of a quick end. This time we won, but next time it may be coyote who comes out victorious.

Nice prose Owen. Only saw one hogster vid in there-nice of you to allow your buddy to get most of the shootingšŸ˜….
Just to let you know, l got a runner last night😊 but he was only 40-50yds and straight away and too quick for vid so l got NO proof.

Thanks guys. Congratulations on the runner Mike. I killed a big male tonight at 164 yds. I'll post up that video when I get chance. Wife has had blood pressure issues all this past week, so I was playing nurse most of last week.

Sorry to hear about your wife, Owen. I know how hard it is to keep that BP in check. Hope she's doing better now.

Thank you Clarence. Yes, that was almost a year ago when my wife was struggling a bit with BP, but it is all good now and without the need for BP meds.
