Eotech Users

I don't know how you guys are "rifle accurate" out to 200 with an eotech, I just can't do it with that fuzzy red dot.
I've got mine on a rifled shotgun, and most of my shots at deer are close and fast and I love it for that, but I can barely keep it on an 81/2x 11 piece of paper at 100. Just no good reference for keeping in the middle of the target when the whole paper is covered by the dot.
Prior to the eotech I had a 3-9 shotgun scope and was getting around 3-4" groups at 150, which is the farthest I tried at the range.
When you're shooting at 200 at say a 3" target spot, what are your aiming references? (if that makes any sense)

Makes sence but I just want this build for more of a Fun Gun. I have plenty of good shooters for the serious stuff but I like to play too.

For reasonable ranges around here who knows, maybe it will be just the ticket. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused1.gif Most areas around here are very tight and overgrown. I've missed out on quite a few critters not being able to get the scope on them quick enough. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif

Strange setup there Larry but go with what works I guess...

I get that comment alot. just like Jim said in his response.
But it works.
Seems like most of my shooting has been 60-100 yards so I have to have a magnified scope. Once in a while these fast movers pop in and even with my scope turned down to lowest setting I can't get on them fast enough. Eotech is just the ticket.
I had an ACOG for a bit and never could get the accuracy out to 100 yards everyone talks about. I have bad eyes so magnification past 4X is a must.
I had an Aimpoint and liked it also, this one is just better for me. Seems like it has a bigger field of view.
BTW. Both eyes open makes sight acquisition instant on the close ones.
It takes very little practice to get proficient at shooting "Gangsta" style at close range.
I will admit that I have only had one "one shot" kill like this, but 2-3 rds always gets me on my mark.
before anyone beats on me for that statement remember I'm talking about a coyote that is close and usually moving out at MachIII.

LOL Jim, I'm picturing in my mind you giving Larry the business.... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

That's what makes this place great though, guys like Larry sharing their ideas or creations... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grinning-smiley-003.gif

Helipilot, how ya been, you haven't been around for awhile..Hope all is well. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grinning-smiley-003.gif

I'm leaning hard towards the RRA coyote rifle, but RRA products for sure.

Lots of great AR's out there, no doubt.

Shot Augnmikes new RRA predator pursuit 20" with 2 stage trigger, WOW, impressive accuracy out of the box once you find the load it likes. 55 gr VMax it likes, right now.

But because of where I live, I'm still doing some legal research on COMMIEFORNIA legal Ar's..

I noticed in the last midway flyer they had a piccatiny add on mount that mounts under a regular scope and offsets at a 45 degree angle for mounting back up optics. Of course I can't find it now.

I have an EOTech mounted on a 16" Rock River that sits on my center cousel in my pickup, with a 6 pos collapsible stock that is just for running coyotes. It only takes a few rounds to mow 'em down, or any other critter for that matter. I call it the "ultimate truck gun setup" myself. As for shooting them minute of dead coyote, farthest I shot standing was probably 150 yards or so. Anything beyond that I have a hard time shooting accurately.

I am thinking seriously about putting my eotech 512 atop a sbe but it sits so high, I think it would be the cat's meow for tight patterning buckshot!

Ken,

You do know that if you buy anything other than USO, you won't be allowed in either Furbucket, right?? If not, then consider this a warning.

By the way, Mike said the trip to the range was awesome. We'll have to hook up and hit it again sometime soon.
