What is everyones favorite case trimmer, I am on the market for one and have heard good things about redding and Foster. Any suggestions on a particular brand or model that works well for you?
I like the Dillon electric trimming rig. Looks like a laminate trimmer on top of a FL sizing die. Makes really, really short work of trimming, and in my experience is very, very accurate.
I have two Lyman's that have been converted to use with an electric screw driver...one is set for my .204 and the other for my .223...
I attached mine to the wall rather than the top of my loading bench and the old baking pan below catches about 90% of the shavings...easier clean up...
LE Wilson here. Very consistent.
I also have the Hornady.
I did run into a problem with the wilson lately. The wilson uses a case holder which is nothing more than a piece of metal with a hole in the middle that sits on the trimmer and holds the case aligned to the cutter head. The holders are caliber specific.
Now the trouble. I used the Lee collet die to neck size some cases and they would not fit into the wilson case holder since the body of the case was swollen. It chambered fine in my rifle. I used the Hornady trimmer for those.
All in all I recommend the wilson. Like I said it is very precise.
bosco, the 204 is the only one I don't have but it can be ordered direct from Lee last time I checked a couple years ago for $20. What I did instead is set up a lyman trimmer I had on hand, dedicated to trimming 204 cases. I took the .22 pilot and ground/pollished it to .204 size and set the trimmer up to desired case length. You might give Lee a call and see if they've dropped down to 5 bucks yet.
The Gracey is hard to beat. You can do 500 cases an hour and it deburrs inside and out. Be sure to use the carbide cutter. It is much easier to adjust than the steel blades.
I used to use a Lyman Universal until I found my settings were slipping about every five casings and I had to stop what I was doing and reset the darn thing. So I decided to invest in the Redding 2400 Case Trimmer. It has a mic on it and is oh so accurate and consistent. Love mine and makes life so much easier when you are doing large numbers of cases. I got mine on sale from Midway a couple of months ago for around $125.
My hand trimmer is a Forster that doesn't get much use anymore. I have had the RCBS Trim-Pro, the Dillon 1200B (for sale) the Gracey and the Giraud. For my money the Giraud is heads and shoulders above the rest. The Dillon is fast but is limited to calibers and trim dies are expensive. The Gracey does a fine job but compared to the Giraud it looks like something someone cobbled together in their garage with a hangover. The RCBS is overpriced.

I'm not sure they still make them but Wilson made new/fired case holders and you contact them for around $27 you send them 3 fired cases and they custom make one for you.
