ERGO Tactical Deluxe Grip

So I have seen plenty of these on AR's. Just curious if they are worth the 60 bucks that RRA charges on their site.

From most of the photos I have seen it seems that it pretty much makes the rifle level when put on a gun that also has a bi pod. I would assume this helps with punching paper at the range but probably will not help when out hunting.

Anyway thoughts and opinions.

I assume you're talking about the one with a palm shelf...

I have one with and one without. I prefer the one without. It is adjustable but just doesn't fit my hand well and it is lifted off the bench when shooting so it doesn't really act as support for anything other than your hand.

The grip w/o the shelf is ~$30. The shelf is NOT worth the extra $ IMHO.

You can see in this pic that it is sitting ON the sling and the barrel is still pointed way to far up to be close at normal distances.

But it does look cool.....

The Ergo deluxe grip I have is AWESOME. It must not be tacticool though cause it doesn't have a palm shelf...

The closer you have your bipod to the receiver (like with a carbine or mid length location) then the higher it will lift your barrel. When bipod is set to 6" and its all the way at the end of the quad rail...then its very very close to level. (much more so than plopez's picture)

The Palm Shelf isn't there to act as a rear platform. It's more for comfort and repeatable hand placement. It's like using a thumb hole stock. Your hand simply can not go any lower than the position you've got your shelf set.

I have had 2 and love both, but I didn't pay MSRP for either one. I got my first black one on Ebay for like $28 lightly used. (sold it for $30 on AR15 i think) and I got the 2nd one direct from ERGO as a discontinued style and also got a screaming deal. However, I will be getting one for my next AR10 style build, no question. How much I pay for it is not an issue. I will use the factory grip until I find one in the right price range.
