Anyone who liked these bullets for coyote out of 223 or 22/250? I've been running Benchmark in the 223. Varget in the 22-250. Have some 22-250 made up with 6.5 Staball for a future range day. Supposedly the eldx is the same bullet, different tip material. But they don't put the 1 in 14" twist rate on the box. I've picked 600 of the Amax, so I have a decent stash for coyote and probably several load development cycles.

I shot them at about 3550 had occasional exit on coyote. The load using Staball will be significantly faster, hoping that will end the exits but not splash on the surface of winter coyote fur.

Hornady's 52gr ELD-M is the same bullet as the old 52gr A-Max but their 53gr V-max is a whole different animal. Those 52's always shoot well in 14tw barrels but the 53 Vmax even though it's just barely slightly heavier really needs at least a 12tw. I guess some guys get them to shoot ok in a 14tw but most don't. I've tried to get them to work in a couple different 14tw 22-250's but the results were not good so my "go to" 14tw bullet has generally always been the 52 ELD-M. My 22-250 has a 18in Brux 12tw and the 53 Vmax do really well in that rifle and my 223AI has a 9tw Hart and that thing loves those 53's.

Ive still got a stash of the 52s. i used them in 223 for deer depredations and hogs.
They always did very good.
I think i used a case full of H335 with them.

The 53Vmax i use Benchmark and they do very well.
