That is a fair point. However, it takes just as much skill, albeit different skill, to get long range kills. Different strokes, and all.

I have bought several rifles with the intent of using them on coyotes at "long range". Never actually worked out that way. I have yet to use any for that purpose.
The reality is that if you start looking at drop charts, it makes little difference what you use, they all drop, they key is knowing how much.

The whole truth and nothing but the truth right here ^^^

The last thing I would use if I wanted a drt animal is archery equipment.
 
Shooting at coyotes at 400 yards and farther does not educate them at all unless you were trying to call them. If they are already call shy, don't call. Spot and stalk is pretty fun, if you miss, they learn nothing, most of the time the have no idea where the shot came from and run closer.
