Can't say that I blame him one bit, I would probably do the same, but I would just do it and not talk about it.

Father of Murdered 5-Year-Old Says He'll Make Sure Killer Suffers Same Fate

The father of a 5-year-old boy killed in 1975 is vowing to murder his son's killer if the man is released, as scheduled, several years early from a 40-year sentence.

John Foreman said in an interview Monday with WPRO-AM radio that he will kill convicted murderer Michael Woodmansee "as aggressively and as painfully" as he killed his son if Woodmansee is released from prison early.

Woodmansee, who was 16 years old at the time, kidnapped and killed Jason Foreman in 1975 in South Kingstown, R.I. He confessed and was convicted of second-degree murder eight years later.

Jason Foreman was presumed to be missing until 1982, when Woodmansee tried to lure another boy into his home. The boy escaped and police began to question Woodmansee about Foreman's disappearance.

Authorities found the boy's skull and bones on Woodmansee's , along with a journal that detailed the gruesome killing. John Foreman told the radio station that Woodmansee wrote about eating his son's flesh in the journal.

"That's what he thinks about. That's what is still on his mind I'm sure, if gets out again, to do this again," Foreman said.

Woodmansee pleaded guilty to second-degree murder in 1983 and was sentenced to 40 years in jail. This was part of a plea bargain meant to spare the Foreman family from hearing the details of their son's death.

But Woodmansee is set to be released 12 years earlier than was previously expected, the Providence Journal reports, sparking outrage from the Foreman family.

"I do intend, if this man is released anywhere in my vicinity, or if I can find him after the fact, I do intend to kill this man," Foreman told the radio station.

Amy Kempe, a spokeswoman for Attorney General Peter Kilmartin, said in a statement Monday that he was concerned and outraged about Woodmansee's scheduled release, and said he was urging the Department of Corrections to consider all avenues available to keep him behind bars. Kempe said the office would work with the Department of Corrections to review all legal options available.

Patricia Coyne-Fague, chief legal counsel for the Department of Corrections, said Monday she had not yet heard from the attorney general's office, but that typically the only way an inmate can lose good time he's earned for early release is if he misbehaves.

She explained that Woodmansee is eligible for early release under a longstanding law, first put in place in 1872, and last significantly changed in 1960. That law allowed Woodmansee to earn up to 10 days off his sentence for every month he behaved. Because he also had a job in prison, he was eligible to receive up to two additional days per month off his sentence for every month he worked at least 15 days, she said.

For his own protection, Woodmansee served nearly all of the last 28 years of his sentence in prisons in Massachusetts instead of Rhode Island, but returned to the state last week, the newspaper said.

Put me on the father's jury and he'll walk. Why we keep pieces of worthless trash like Woodmansee alive is so far beyond me I get mad just thinking about it.

Put me on the father's jury and he'll walk.

AGREE 110% This Piece of $hit should ROT behind bars.... O'h hes a good boy and he has a job WELL BOOOO-HOOO What about the boy he killed did he ever get that choice No he didnt..... If i say more i might get BANNED so NUFF-SAID 4 NOW

These type of people shouldn't rot behind bars, they should be put to their fate from the beginning.
It's sad that child molesting/killing criminals get to set behind bars and be rewarded for daily good deeds.
100% the father should walk, he should be rewarded for his daily good deed.

Gotta disagree here. The country was founded on the Rule of Law and murder is murder even if we think it's justified. He should have seen the electric chair within a week of the verdict.

I spent most if my adult life/career protecting the rights of both the accused and the victims to the best of my ability...

But let some miscreant touch one of my grandchildren and my definition of "Justice" will be of my own determination...

In the old days you just pulled your six shooter and that gene pool came to a quick end.
Might be why we have so many IDIOTS today-REHAB-BS

I agree with Colorado Pete and Prairie Muffin. For this animal thinly veiled as a human to have a chance to live one day after the conviction is a travesty. There should be mile long trenches dug each day and filled with this type garbage. I know this bears semblance to other times in history, but enough is enough, it's gotten to the point where there is no punishment to fit the crime.

We, the burdened enough taxpayers do not deserve to be shackled with these derelicts that never can be rehabilitated (a word created by a liberal) or made to be a positive member to society.

I'm sick and tired of being sick and tired. We reward the ignorant and poor to breed, and it's only so long that the good people can drag along the dead horse's weight.

Maybe the dad is wiser than one thinks. Now that his statement is public record, the prison officials and others would be politically assassinated if they release the prisoner and dad shoots him at the gate. If he gets out and does it again, they also lose. They may rethink this now and keep him behind bars for his own (ha, ha) safety. That's a win for dad and he doesn't have to kill anyone.

I remember hearing about the same thing concerning Charlie Manson. Seems he'd be hunted down like Frankenstein`s monster if released.

My family and church members will be praying for this man, that his son's killer stays in prison. Dad probably has a wife and other children that would be horribly affected, should the scumbag get out and dad kills him. Family has suffered enough, although I would do what he will do if scumbag is released. I can't even imagine what he/they must feel.

Decades ago in (I think) Oman or Qatar, they had a prison that was a cavern system in a hill. They would open the door and throw a prisoner in, and that was it. No guards inside, no lights or electricity or facilities of any kind. Families of prisoners would drop food and water down air vents in the rock, but had no way of knowing if their family member was alive or dead, and no-one was ever let out, not even the bodies of the dead. When the old Emir died and his son took over, he tried to give amnesty to the prisoners (a tradition). They found that every single living prisoner was hopelessly insane and couldn't be released into society (how the story got out).

A "life" sentence for this scum in a prison like that would be very satisfying to me if I was the father.

As that's not an option, death would do.

Death would be a first choice for this dirtbag, but life in prison with a ginormous man named thunderJOHNSON as his cell mate.....
