Favorite Hunting Pic

It's been a while since we've had a good hunting pic thread going. Being the dead part of the summer, it would be nice to retreat to cooler days and share some of our favorite pics and the stories behind them.

This first one, while not the best photo it has a lot of meaning for me. My brothers (also my hunting buddies) had moved out of the area due to military assignments. They made it home all at the same time, and we made it out on a calling trip after a short snow fall just before daylight. We drove the roads of our hunting area, cutting tracks in the new snow and calling them. Had a great day.

The second I like, simply becaus I love calling in the fog, due to close encounters and they typically scare the crap out of me, as they show up out of no where. With this particular coyote I had been on stand for about 7-8 mins. I look over my shoulder and about 30 yards away he was staring at me.

This is my favorite just because it was by far the most fun coyote hunting trip I have ever taken. I was with my 2 best hunting buddies and we killed 7 dogs this day(one not pictured cause it was killed on the way home). Great day with great friends.

And to many others to post. The best times are with friends and family.

While my daughter isn't quite old enough to share the hunts with me yet I have enjoyed having her in a few pictures. I hope to share alot of good memories with her in the future, and as of August the 8th I will have another to drag around with me. Pretty neat to see her grow up while being in my photos with dead stuff...

Good hunts with my kids are my favorite. I get more excited watching them make a good shot than when I do.

Couple of my favorites:

8 coons from one building, the bigger red dog retired after this hunt and it will always hold a place in my heart. I saw more heart from all 4 dogs that day than I can remember. An epic battle was the best way to describe it.

On of the many nicknames I answer to.

My best deer to date taken at 475yards.

Not a great photo, but makes me remember the Idaho bear hunt and good dogs of yesterday. Bubba the old SoDak coon hound turned bear dog. Never was the same after we got back. He was GOOD!

Here's the best year I've had:

My dog busting through ice after a drake mallard on a cold MN Thanksgiving morning. We shot a handful of ducks that day.
