I've been waiting to see a new pic thread arise that brings us all a retreat back to cooler days. Thought I'd dig up this old post and see if still has any legs. Here's a couple pics from this last season.
This pair was so eager that three "barks" did not slow them down; had to shoot them running. Picture shows where they fell, within 15-25 ft. of call & decoy.
Another favorite is this oddcouple called on same stand, arriving within 2-3 minutes of each other and emerging from thick brush on the same trail. Bobcat ran out first, dropped it in the two track; coyote followed closely behind & tripped on dead bobcat. Stopping to look back at what had tripped him proved to be a fatal mistake.
In keeping with the cooler weather theme, here are a couple of my favorites that I have on photobucket. Lots of older favorites but they aren't digital and I'm too lazy to scan them.
I love bobcats.
I went in after this one with a shovel and a flashlight. I missed him at 7 yards and wounded him running at 235.
I know these ain't of predator hunting but here are my favorite pic's.The first one is of my great grandfather taken in 1946 in PA the picture isn't the greatest and ripped but there are 75 red foxes,10 grey foxes,5 coyotes, and a black bear all trapped in PA
the second is my son with my first bow killed deer in 1999
the next is my biggest buck to date killed with a rifle in 2005
the next is the buck i killed this past rifle season
I killed this in 2007 in maryland with my bow rather unique I think
and killed this in 2007
ahh the memories and the anticipation for the upcoming season.
Here's one of my oldest son Steven. His first bow buck at age 12. He's not much into hunting anymore(sports and girls) but I hope he cherishes this hunt as much as I will. We were in the same tree and I was over his left shoulder as I talked him through the shot and to see the arrow fly true was amazing. What a rush.
The next is my youngest Mitchell,my hunting partner. Only 13 but we've made a lot of hunting memories in the last 4 years. I've got a ton of pics but a few of my favorites. Like his first coyote.
His first Gray Fox.
And his biggest buck to date, taken in Missouri last year.
We called in this pair last year. Twins.
But this one I think is my favorite, Mitchell, not so much. I tell him we'd get a lot more coyotes if he'd keep his eyes open while we're out there.
Agreed. Awesome pics by all. I'd love to see this thread or another like it pinned at the top for year round posting. Those pics of the kids are priceless. Can't wait until mine get old enough to come along. Also love the pics of the bobs by drhart and paloduro. Great pics by all.
I think this is probably my favorite picture. The dog was no good, but the boy was worth keeping. This was taken in 2007 I think. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grinning-smiley-003.gif BTW that coyote had blue eyes. Weird.
My Hunting partner killed this one at 150 yards with a shot to the mouth. After 30 years of being together you would think I would learn that when I ask her if she knows were she hit it she's going to say the head. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/bowingsmilie.gif After 30 years I shouldn't even ask her anymore. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused1.gif
Maumau, did'ja get a little too close to the scope while shooting the Forest Sitatunga? Beautiful Bongo, I would have a hard time not justifying a full body mount on that thing.
