i made one up from turkey feathers from last years hunt and camo painted a carbon arrow and used the practice tip to stick into ground. Anyone ever tried this and had good success with it....just thought i would make it since i was waiting for my shotgun to dry from painting.

I use turkey feathers over snow with just some fishing line attached to hang from a limb. I use white feathers when there's no snow. I've seen coyotes and bobcats stand and stare at them 20 yards away. Sure beats carrying an electic decoy around.

I have been dragging so much stuff around that I may need a duce and half with a trailer. Starting to lighten the load. BUT !! I still don't understand how a feather in the wind in the woods will attract a coyote when everything else is moving also. I'm still new at this stuff.

It don't, your call attracts them and the feather gives their eyes something to munch on while you aim and pull the trigger.

I've used a turkey feather for years, and it works well! No battries, never makes any noise, not to mention,(it's cheap)and works well! Ron

It outta work just fine considering Cabelas has started selling them for $8.00

I use an old carbon arrow, fishing line-with a swivel 'cause yep, it will get tangled, and three turkey feathers that make it swirl, dip and dive in the wind.

Works like crazy on deer, it seems they can't seem to figure out what it is.

Made for some great video!

I was wondering if I could add a small dyed red feather....wonder what kind of realism that might add?????

Would love to a picture of this with the three feathers. I've seen them with one feather but not with three.

I've done the same. Took 3 feathers, taped them together so they form a sort of tripod. When the wind blows it spins them on the fishing line like a lawn ornament. It was enough to make one coyote stop and look.

I think Hunters Specialties sells somethin similar...I can't justify buying feathers on a stick. I may not be too handy...but I ain't stupid.

I also took a smaller feather and screwed it in my mojo critter along the spring. When the mojo spins the feather flaps around and sounds like a bird flappin around. Made a bobcat come in for a closer look.

No I wish I didn't have to work in the mornin...I wanna go out!!!!

EXACTLY!

Mine are glued together to help decrease weight, and they "fly" and circle like crazy. Doesn't take much wind either.

gonna try it for myself this weekend except i use wire instead of a stick and it sorta plugs into and supports itself with my spitfire

A while back Predator Xtreme had an article about coyote vision and from that it seems that coyotes see greens in shades of grey so a dark feather swirling in the breeze WOULD stand out.

Fiber Glass rods that are used for Driveway reflectors.? Work great attaching a feather to them.? You have to either sharpen the end to stick them into any frozen ground.? or secure a long Nail on it to put it into the ground. Works great also.

I have had good luck with a turkey feather on some mono fishing line. One thing I do is use a larger fishing swivel to attach the feather to the line. Really makes it more sensitive and moves better in the slightest breeze.

I use a pheasant wing on my stick & #9 wire, 20 lb test line & swivel to move the wing away from the stick. It works to take their eyes off you since it always moving in the breezes. Ive had coyote & fox go right to it and grab it as well as a few hawks that have swooped down on it.
