Federal fusion ammunition

As far as I know they are expanding soft point type projectiles. You wouldn't want to shoot a deer with a FMJ anyway...

In Wisconsin Full metal jacket is illegal for taking deer.

No they are not, they are a bonded pointed soft point. A very good bullet and very good ammo in everything I've shot them in.

I just got back from an Antelope hunt in Wyoming. There was a guy in our party that was using 130gr fusion in his 270 winny. I was with him when he shot both of his speed goats. The impact of the round both times reminded me of a vmax hitting the side of a yote. Nice and loud. One went straight DRT at 216yds and the other ran about 30yds after taking a good hit at 264yds. I was impressed with the ammo and the wound channels they made. They are not FMJ and acted nothing like FMJs would.

Everyone I know who shoots that bullet loves it. I am pretty sure that they are like a Nosler Partition or Speer Hot-Cor. They people who I know who use them say they are one of the best deer bullets around. I would like to try them I just cant get away from the Barnes.

How is the Fusion like either of those two bullets other than not being an FMJ?
