Federal Top Gun

Is anyone reloading Federal Top Gun or the Range and Field cases?
Federal website gives loading data for them but lists them with fiber base wads, and the ones I have have a clear plastic base wad. Wondering if anyone is using them, and if so where did you get the data.

It is a straight wall case so I just use Cheddite data. I also load to low pressure for my old guns so I do have a margins of error to play with

Thanks, I kind of look for lowest pressure loads anyway, and will be shooting them in a Red Label, and Win 21, so have that margin. The claybuster wads say "all straight wall hulls" so I guess I'm ok. Only have a couple hundred primers right now. I have a couple thousand Cheddite and Fiocchi primers, but not sure if they will fit even if I find data.

Also check your powder bushings with a scale. All the bushings for my MEC throw powder a few tenths under what the powder bushing chart says.

My 1oz shot charge bar throws pretty much right on 1oz. My 1 1/8th oz bar throws 1 1/16th oz. This will vary some on shot size and magnum vs chilled lead shot.

A little less powder and shot in the hull should equal lower pressures.

The top guns are now using a plastic basewad, and some claim these reload the same as fiber base top gun due to the increased volume. Dont know on that one.

Field and Range are made by Rio for federal and are very very close to a normal blue rio load. Mild loads you can use fio/ched data, wouldn't push it with max PSI loads though.

Thanks, just trying to keep shooting until things get back to normal, if ever. I always try to keep pressure low, just banging away at trap and skeet a couple times a week.

Fed hulls and win cheapo seem to be all I can get ahold of lately (for free), the seemingly endless supply of gun clubs and rem game load hulls has dried up as the local shops only get in Fed top gun and win super target shells.
