June 25, 2014: A group of immigrants from Honduras and El Salvador, who crossed the U.S.-Mexico border illegally, are stopped in Granjeno, Texas.AP

Imagine you’re about to sit down for supper when suddenly 760 folks show up on your front porch wanting fried catfish and hushpuppies. You’d be fit to be tied as they say in Tennessee.

And Tennessee Governor Bill Haslam is fit to be tied.

The Obama administration recently released 760 illegal immigrant children to sponsors in the Volunteer State without any warning, the governor charged.

There was not so much as a text message or tweet.

“It is unacceptable that we became aware via a posting on the HHS website that 760 unaccompanied children have been released by the Office of Refugee Resettlement to sponsors in Tennessee without my administration’s knowledge,” the governor wrote in a strongly-worded letter to President Obama.

Haslam, a Republican, said he still has not been contacted by the Obama administration – and has no idea where the illegals were resettled.

“I still have not been contacted and have no information about these individuals or their sponsors other than what was posted on the HHS website,” he wrote.

The Office of Refugee Resettlement says sponsors are typically a parent or relative who can care for the illegal immigrant child while their immigration case is processed. All sponsors are required to undergo background checks.

It’s also unclear why the ORR is handling the children – since they are illegal immigrants and not refugees.

It’s been the Obama administration’s standard operating procedure to release the illegals into states without notifying local or state government officials.

White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest told reporters that the illegal immigrant children have a right to privacy. He said privacy rights of the illegals are more important than the public’s right to know what’s happening.

Haslam warned the sheer number of illegals could “have a significant impact on state and local governments.”

Specifically, he feared whether the massive numbers will complicate the start of the new school year.

“An influence of unaccompanied immigrant children to the state, with little information being made available to the public or to state leaders, creates confusion and could be very problematic,” the governor wrote.

Dan Howell, a Republican state house candidate, said the administration’s actions are outrageous and commended Haslam’s letter.

“I believe in legal immigration but I support Gov. Haslam's response to the president's decision which is an outrage,” Howell told me. “It's unfortunate the president's actions are putting a strain on Tennessee's resources but what's more unfortunate is the hardship his actions are imposing on these children and the fact the president is ignoring the law and refusing to seal the border.”

Meanwhile, Haslam is demanding the Obama administration answer eight questions about the illegals dumped in his state.

Among the most pressing questions, he wants to know if the children were given medical screenings, how their sponsors were screened, the official immigration status of the illegals and their sponsors, the localities the children were placed, and how long they plan to be residents of the Volunteer State.

Gov. Haslam has a right to be concerned.

If Obama is truly acting in the best interests of the nation – why is he cloaking this nefarious scheme in a shroud of secrecy?

Well now that right there is just absolute B_S_! I'm pretty sure that the public is the one that's going to wind up footing the bill for the little taco benders, so I'm pretty dammed sure the public has a right to know, and a right to refuse to support them.

I went to the local Wal Mart the other night around 9PM and whites were outnumbered 5 to 1 by Mexicans. I never see more than 3-5 at one time and there were at least 100 or more. I live in east Tennessee. Nothing good can come of this.

You'll probably get a good Mexican Restaurant or two out of it!

Interesting. We used to provide foster care... mostly short term until we took one long term (she is still with us and a very sad, sad story by itself). There was, and probably still is, a huge shortage of foster homes. You know - places for kids ALREADY in the system needing homes. This shortage was nation-wide. Now all of a sudden this country is inundated with untold (transparently, apparently, but still untold) numbers of children needing homes. And don'tchaknowit there they are. Where were all these open arms for children in this country legally? Where are the open arms for the homeless children and adults who exist in this country legally? I saw someplace where there are enough empty houses in the US to shelter every homeless person in the US and then some. And, yet somehow, we not only open our doors to a swarm of people who first break our laws entering our country, but we treat them better than we treat our own. Meanwhile, the administration ignores any hint of duty to uphold the Constitution and enforce the law. How much longer can we tolerate our politicians?

Quote:I'm pretty dammed sure the public has a right to know, and a right to refuse to support themI have to wonder what would happen of all concerned citizens sent individual letters to their Representatives and Senators stating they were refusing to pay taxes until our borders were secure and effective immigration reform/enforcemenmt in place, and follow it up with blank IRS 1040s and a refusal to provide any information on it...

It would take quite awhile for even the questionable IRS computers to catch up with the onslaught of 'no information'...If taxes are not paid, the politicians have no resources to spend, and then they tend to listen...

I just watched the story about the illegal kids in Tennessee on the Nashville news. Of course, some bleeding heart liberal immigration lawyer was bemoaning the fact that most people don't want the illegals there. She said that it was important that these kids "be given a chance". Well, let them do what other immigrants have done to "have a chance"......come here LEGALLY, through the proper channels. Instead, these new immigrants expect to be given special treatment, along with all the freebies that the Democrats pass out in exchange for their vote.

I'm afraid that if I were a state governor, the state police would have standing orders to be on the look out for these busses and deny entry into the state. If Obama wanted to fight about it, I'd say bring it on.

I wonder if Obama realizes what a disservice he has done to Mexicans in this country? Illegal aliens weren't necessarily liked before, and now 71% of the population thinks they should all be shipped home. They tell us what huge contributors to society these people are, then drag these illegal immigrant children in here, who are the greatest burden on society of any of those people, saying that they should be given a chance, and their rights should be protected. Then they sneak them in the dark, and dump them on unsuspecting governments who don't have the resources to deal with them. He'll be lucky if he doesn't get them all killed before it's over.

The same Divider-In-Chief B_S_ we've grown accustomed to however.

If "We the people" don't start seriously fighting back, it is only going to get worse exponentially. It is obvious that no one in congress is going to stand up to Barack Obama beyond participating in news show interviews and trying to sound like they give a [beeep]. We all do a lot of talking for sure. But when Obama's private army is complete, and our country is over run with illegal liberals, and our guns and ammo are all gone, (yes it's coming) and the FEMA camps are full of political prisoners, it will be too late to turn it around. This country is going down hill like a snowball headed for [beeep]. Looks like we will all simply just piss and moan about it all the way there. I'm certainly not advocating armed revolution. But if we don't get actively involved now, the time will come when it is the only option left. If so, god save us.

I heard they were coming a couple of weeks ago. I think I posted something about it. There are supposed to be some coming, or may already be, in Kingsport. No one wants to be mean to little children, but many of these "children" are some of the bloodiest gang members going. They are NOT children.

lol This is really funny to me in AZ..

Welcome to the ball game folks.. Your ER rooms are going to take hours and you get to pay more because they don't pay.. You pay more taxes, cause they don't pay.
You will get into car wrecks and you had better have uninsured motorist coverage, cause they don't pay.

Your schools will be the worst in the state and be ridiculed because you are not feeding them, clothing them, giving them everything they need, and that includes special teachers to teach them English and how to read, so yes, your neighborhood will go down because the schools in the area will have poor test scores.
Oh, crime, theft, rape, home invasion, shootings, and Gang activity will all go up too. Might as well start passing Arizona laws that make the state prove it wasn't self defence when you shoot one that is trying to do a home invasion, or car jacking.

Unfortunately most of the locals won't realize that, they think good Mexican food comes from Taco Bell, Taco Bueno or out of Old El Paso cans. But they will learn why Taco Bell is known as Taco He!! in Texas. LOL

This is so true, There are few Mexican dishes (in my book) better than a Carniasada barrito.

Speaking of good Mexican food in eastern Tennessee, we passed through Soddy Daisy, a suburb of Chattanooga recently and ate at Delia's Mexican Restaurant. Sorry, can't give you directions, but they KNOW, and serve GOOD Mexican food.

Have to agree w/Tbone regarding the consequences in the future of those unfortunate enough to live in cities selected to be recipients of these large numbers of illegals. Those of us living along the border have experienced all that he has mentioned.

We have had Mexicans for a while now. Maybe not as many as you guys but you see them the same places here as you guys do. In fact, even where I live there is a herd of mexs less than a mile from me. There is supposed to be two people there, but there are about a dozen cars that come and go. They have not bothered me yet except they throw their trash out on the creek bank. When it finally rains like it used to and the trash goes in my hay field, we may have a problem. I do dread the Hondurans and Salvadorans though. Their gangs make the Mex gangs look like armatures. There has been Guatemalan gangs around for several years. Sometimes some of the above turn up in a ditch on a dirt road and no one knows how they got there.

I don't really know where we could get bus loads of conservative children or even if there are any, maybe advertise. I wonder what o's policy would be on them?

If i pick up a bus load of illegals and drove them across the country and dropped them off as a Coyote.. Wouldn't i be breaking the law?????

We seriously need to ammend the Constitution to add; All LAWs and actions from the Government shall equally apply to all parts of the Government and citizens.. NO EXCEPTIONS
