FFP Scopes around $1000 for PRS Competitions

I like a little higher magnification for the 1000+ yard shots. I use a 5-25. Saying that I think 4-20 is great, but you need to spend more money to get in that range. Before you go with the Nikon you should look at the Vortex reticle. I personally like a reticle that more of a "Christmas tree". That way you can hold for elevation and wind if need be and you have an actual mark to go off of.
 
i really like the Nightforce SHV, but i think the 14x is def the limiting factor..i think 20-25x is probably a better bet, id rather have too much and not use it then wish i had more
 
i do like the xmas tree reticle, that was my thought in the original post. Makes alot more sense to have a reference dot, then to have to connect two imaginary lineswhen holding over
