Filming hunts

Has anyone filmed with the Torrey pines logic dead eye with the Gopro while using Gen 3 night vision. My question is could I connect a Pvs14 to a day time good quality scope along with the Torrey pines. I am looking for a decent quality video not TV quality. Thanks

I just got the TP Logic Eagle Eye GS 90-100 (same thing) and GoPro Hero 4 Black...haven't had a lot of time to dial in the settings yet, but it's a pretty cool set up. I did put it on a dayscope with an Armasight gen3A clip-on mini...it was definitely bright enough with a Torch Pro but clarity on the recorded video was seriously lacking. At 50 yards on 3x it isn't anything I would waste time trying to video. I'll mess with the settings more here in the near future to see if I can get it dialed in and report back to you.

I can say from using it in the yard and messing with it, it seems best suited for a 1-4 x scope. I ran it on a 3x dayscope to shoot a nuisance gator the other day...3x seems to be too much magnification and seemed that it would give a better picture of closer range targets at 1x. I'll mess with it more and compare short range to medium and long range, but most of shots on every species I hunt is about 50-75 yards.

And more specific to your question....you'd have to mount the PVS14 at the back of the dayscope, same the Eagle Eye. I don't know that you could get the 2 of them to mate up and mount. You would need the Eagle mounted behind the ocular lens of the PVS14, not sure how that would work.

I am going to try and fab something to run it on a D730 until someone comes out with an adapter for those scopes.

If your wanting to film through a pvs14 I would recommend the TNVC GoPro adapter. Also, to get more magnification I would recommend a 3x or 5x afocal lens for the pvs instead of mounting it behind a day scope. You will need a significant amount of ir light to get a clean, crisp image.

Another option is filming with a handycam or a dslr camera. I'm not sure if it's still available but itt made a camera adapter that would allow the attachment of a pvs 14 to the front of a dslr camera lens by using a step up/ step down ring kit. Of course there is other options for getting better Nv video but the cost increases significantly.

This. A day scope destroys the light gathering ability of the PVs-14.

I've been using my MoroVision MonoCam with Olympus TG-850 to photographs and film in 1080P night vision hunts for years now, works simply outstanding and is completely waterproof and easy to use in the dark.

I will look at them again I did look last year and wasn't sure how good of a image it would produce.
Thanks for the info

I do have a step up/down ring I purchased for a Sony handy cam I wasn't to crazy about the quality I could of had the settings off I will try again or buy a better quality camera that has wifi etc so I can share pics with friends.
Thanks

I did purchase the gopro adaptor and wasn't impressed with it. Everything looks so far away I guess I could put a 3x lens on it.

The reason is it difficult to obtain good photos or video with a pvs14 is because you are trying to focus on the ocular. Skypup is correct the monocam is the best setup for the pvs 14. I have seen good quality video with a canon xa20 behind a d760 with a filmless tube.

Kyle the mono cam by Morovision is not available or they are super hard to come by maybe Skypup will sell his LOL.
I am opened to any and all advice. I am thinking even purchasing the Ir patrol gun/helmet mounted unit they have some great footage by users.

Did you call morovision? They probably still have some hey would be willing to sell they just don't advertise it. I java monocam setup myself but unfortunately I'm not wanting to part ways with it. Since my ir patrol and reap have the pvs 14 eyepiece I actually have attached them to my monocam as well and they work like a charm. Give morovision a call them might be able to help you out.

Unfortunately Moro Vision closed down. I am sure someone must have them in stock.

I have some PVS-14 camera adapters if someone is looking for some. They are $65.00ea. These are the ITT PVS-14 eye piece adapters for a 46mm for a step up or down ring.
