Finally going to give it a try

Now that there is a break in the tax stamp fee(cheap old-fart) I'm going to give it a try. I only have three threaded barrels a 20P, 5.56, and 6mm ARC and they are all threaded the same and 20" or under. I'm only going to buy one and see which gun I like it on. I'm looking at the OCL Polonium K as it will work with all three.

Thoughts?

I have no experience with that suppressor, but once you have it, you will wonder why you waited so long. Welcome to the (quieter) dark side. :)

I have the Polonium on my 5.56 and love it. Also use it on a 17 hmr and it is whisper quiet. All you hear is the bolt slam and a whoosh.
I like it so much I just got a second one. I think you'll love it!

if you'e going for a "one does everything" approach... look into something like a hybrid 46 or similar suppressor.

that way if you have any larger bore stuff that you go "man i really wanna shoot this suppresed too.. why did i get a can that maxes out at 6mm" you wont have buyers remorse. been there, own that shirt. still dont have a 45 cal suppressor for my big bores.

i mean its cheaper to spend a few more sheckles now than to have to go back and buy a whole separate suppressor once you realize what you've been missing while shooting suppressed.

suppressing supersonics is great, but being able to also suppress subsonics like the 300 blk or 338 arc or a 9mm carbine is a whole new segment of giggle factor that you're 100% giving up with your polenium k.

also, before you say "but i need the other endcaps too"... shoot it first before you plunk down the $ for them. its also nice to not have to worry "did i remember to switch from the 556 endcap to the 30 cal?" or leave the extra's at home. we have a few of these in the extended shooting familiy - and not a single owner has said "yea i need that" after shooting them even on smaller caliber firearms.

also bonus - asr adapters for QD is a real plus.

just some food for thought - if your plan is to just buy one anyway.

And not all large bore cans can handle all rounds that will fit through the end cap. I have a 45 cal can that will handle all pistol cals up to 45 cal? Also 450 bushmaster and 300BO Subs only. Not rated for 300bo supers.

Ignore this. You can’t, according to the “man code”, just “have” one suppressor. By one for each caliber, that way you don’t have to swap any around. If you haven’t noticed this sites sole purpose is to put impressionable people in debt…and I’m very impressionable, 😂
Just remember it’s only money and you can make more tomorrow.

The Polonium 30 can handle your list, the K is a 556 can? Have you contacted them about your 6 Arc? The P30 is 5/8-24 are your barrels 1/2-28?

" Description for Polonium and Polonium-K 5.56

The Polonium is made to be a quiet, duty rated, hard use 5.56 suppressor and is offered in both standard and K length options. If you’re looking for the best size, weight and price to sound performance ratio on the market that you can beat the absolute crap out of then look no further than the Polonium series. We don’t need to make up fake, fancy marketing language or give you padded/deflated dB numbers taken on subpar equipment – the reputation, performance and track record of the Polonium and Polonium-K speak for themselves.

The Polonium uses a 6mm bore that is also compatible with any 6mm/.243 cartridges and has a highly effective built in internal and external flash hider that offers superior flash reduction over the competition when using night vision or when shooting in low light conditions. The unique look comes from external weight reduction, removing all unnecessary material to keep the weight down but still as strong as possible. This results in a suppressor that has 10% more surface area depending on the length that will shed heat and cool down quicker.

The Polonium and Polonium-K features industry standard universal 1.375×24 rear threads so you can pick what mounting system best fits your needs."

The above cut and paste was from OCL, I didn't include the description for the Polonium -30 which you can review the whole series here:

That being said I would use alignment rods with the Polonium series for a 6mm projectile. The above actually caused me to go with that series ( I went with the longer Polonium to handle the 6mm Ackley, so yeah the ARC should be fine) .... NO Regrets.. Solid can across the board for my usage YMMV.
The Polonium -30 is the 30 caliber can, I only state this as many usually quote that it's only the K is 5.56, which in fact the standard Polonium is the same as the K for bore ,just longer in length. (yes there is three offerings in the series which is what causes confusion, many think the longer Polonium and Polonium-30 are the same can, simply because the specs are pretty much the same)

But to @Spurchaser man code quote I fully concur get a 30 caliber can as well.

@Plant.One comments yeah I went down the Yankee Hill Wraith 45 SMG can (caught it on closeout years ago) route truly impressive with the SBR 9mm AR with a 1.5" barrel length. Yes it's the Man code thing LMAO

Thanks guys,

I'm going to be 80 this year, my big game hunting is a thing of the past.and if I should go I already have rifles that are old friends and won't get molested for a hunt or two.

I concentrate on predator hunting and I have more than my quota of pred hunting rifle and can't see getting anything larger than a 6mm in the future and the three threaded ones I have will cover every conceivable hunt that I would use a suppressor on. So I think the Polonium K will do the trick. I was just wanting to make sure it wasn't a POS.

well thats the difference in understanding that there are pistol caliber rated cans and rifle caliber rated cans.

just like anything else in life, you gotta do your homework and understand what you're doing, or potentially bad things can happen.

bore diamater and pressure rating are two entirely different things!

I have two DDC Enticer L's and I HIGHLY recommend them. So far I've tried them on 6mm ARC, 6.5cm, and 308. It suppresses all of them very well. It suppresses the 6.5 and 6mm EXTREMELY well. They are very affordable, you can get the bare finish for $540 and the black for $615. You can get different end caps. I have the 30 and the 6mm, but I have yet to try the 6mm.

I would NOT go with a Hybrid 46 or similar sized suppressor if maximum sound reduction was your main goal, especially with smaller (5.56, 6mm, etc) calibers. A friend of mine has a Hybrid 46 and after shooting my 6mm arc with the Enticer L just one time he went and bought him an Enticer. He put the Hybrid 46 with the 5.56 end cap on his 20'' 243 and it is HORRIBLE. It's like he doesn't even have a suppressor on it. It is better on his 308, but still doesn't compare to the Enticer on the 308.
