Finished Remote E-caller

I finished my homemade E-caller. It uses and Nady 351 Wireless Transmitter /Reciever and a Rio 600 MP3 player. I have a 7 watt hobytron amplifier and a 15 watt Phantom preditor horn. The whole thing fits into a Energizer Outfitter Flashlight.

I wired into the flashlight on/off switch to control the reviever and added an LED to know wheather or not it's on. I removed the guts of the flashlight and added external batteries for the remote. I opened up the reciever and soldered one end of a servo connector to the internal battery terninals and drilled a small hole through the case. glued the servo connector to the side of the case for easy hook up to external batts. Can use internal or external batts

The horn wont go all the way in flush with the bezel so I removed the lens and then took a heat gun and heated the inside front of the flashlight where the speaker had interferance. Pushed the speaker down into the body of the flashlight and reformed the plastic so now there is plenty of room for a nice neat fit.

Many thanks to the innovative minds here whose Ideas I used. Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.

ArkElkHun, nice compact little unit ya put together there. Looks good guy.
Couple of questions for ya. What size battery does that hobbytron amp use? What size batteries does the Nady units use? Where did you put the battery for the amp?
Thanks,
dc

ArkElkHun, I just noticed something. You said you used a Nady 351. The link you put up was for the Nady 151. Whats the difference in the two models?

AEH Thats almos exactly like to one I was building but I can't find that light anywhere around here (see completed e caller need tech advice) Is your nady a 351? I used a 141. What batteries did you uses and did you use the same to power the rec/amp. Did you have to remove the circut boards for the rec/ amp or did they fit inside in their original seperate housings? Thanks for any help.

This call really works great. Went out this morning and had a real good day. Called critters in 4 of 9 set-ups. We were 3 for 4 before the wind started blowing so hard

ElkHunter, that is one good looking caller. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif Compact, and even has a little stand to position the angle of the speaker. Let us know how your field test results go!
