First aid supplies?

I picked up a nice smaller sized kit at WallyWorld...Has 99% of the things I might need, just no Epiten (sp) for wasp sting allergies..It stays pretty close to me when I'm out by myself..

I have a trauma kit that I got from US Calvary. Cam in a molle bag, and stays with my pack. Never can be too careful.

basic first aid kit relatively small but does cover the basics. I have added 4x4's , triangle bandages, gauze, tape of various sizes, sam splint.

Don't laugh, but I started carrying a personal locating beacon (PLB) by McMurdo. My wife doesn't like the idea of me heading into the mountains by myself and would give me grief whenever I went hunting alone. It cost me $250, but there's no monthly or annual fee. She'd still prefer it if I take a buddy, but I get a lot less grief when I don't.

Minimum first aid for the field.....Steri Strips, iodine, gauze, tape, snake bite kit. Larger Trauma Bag if I am camping that includes casting material, sam splint, suture kit, cpr mask and a bunch of other stuff I hope I will never need to use. I have a cell phone....not that I get a signal where I hunt......and when I am camping with my friend he has a SPOT Tracker. One thing I do carry all the time along with my hunting license is a "physician's alert card" I printed off this site letting "who ever finds me" know that I am a hunter and what to look for.

I get combat trauma training. So I use that stuff. Tourniquet, dressings, bandages. I also have a body staple kit. Quick Clot as a last resort.

Like I said, I am trained to use this stuff. Don't take it if you are not properly trained.

I was Deer hunting yesterday and had to use my first aid kit. I carry a large one in my truck. Too big to carry in the pack. I was driving in to a very small town and saw 3 people helping an older lady up who had tripped in front of a market. She was banged up pretty good bleeding from her hands and arm. I parked and saw that she was fine overall so I got out the kit and we cleaned and bandaged her up. What we used was hydrogen peroxide, some 4" sponges to wipe it dry, Neosporin, 4" sponges to cover the wounds, cloth tape to secure everything and scissors to cut the cloth tape. I carry that and ibuprofen, band-aids, a couple rolls of gauze....

I always have a pesonal first aid kit in the jeep or on my person depending on how far away I am hunting from the vehicle. It includes iodine, triple antibiotic ointment, bandades, some 2x2s and 4x4s with surgical tape, a snake bite kit, and now tweezers. Wyoming taught me a hard painful lesson about prairie cactus and not having the means to remove the small needles that seem to hurt much more than the bigger ones. It taught me this lesson more than once.....

I also have one package of quick clot.

My personal first aid kit in included with my personal essentials/ survival kit. Fits nicely in a molle pouch.

Basic and simple first aid kit. Tape, bandage pads, alcohol wipes, bic lighter, instant ice packs......same stuff we take fishing.

I was sitting around the other day and got thinking. Lets say all you have is a copenhagen tin (or your favorite tin) thats all the room you have. What first aid supplies would you put in it?

Think it would be fun to throw a few together They are small enough they could go in every coat pocket, every back pack, almost in anything, [beeep] Id even throw one in my fly fishing vest.
