Most ranchers really don't care for badgers. That sure is true. Every run a horse to turn an old cow and have it hit a badger hole with both front feet at the same time. Its an ugly wreck regardless of who you are. Had a fellow from Boston buy a ranch here several years ago. He decided to help me catch my horses that were out in a big pasture on green grass. Needless to say it was an all out run to catch that bunch. He had given me quit a lecture on how great badgers are for the environment during the pickup ride. After the horse chase and his wreck he shifted his views on the subject.
But here in Wyoming you have to have a trapping license to shoot badgers. I don't like to skin them but if you put one down I believe you have the obligation to skin it.
