Fishing knots

Grizz here.
I wanted to try and get a consensus on what fishing knot everyone uses here. Triline, Palomar, ect. Even though I live 10 minutes from the Pacific, I only spin fish for trout in the local mountains. I like the Palomar knot myself. What do the rest of you use. Mr Buker, please feel free to add your two cent here sir. I know you likes to fish once in while /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif.

depends on what line and lure I'm using.

Mostly on light tackle I use an improved clinch knot, or sometimes uni-knot(a clinch knot with 2 passes through the hook eye, then tag end goes through both).

If using braid or fireline, or with heavy leaders for saltwater species, I use the palomar.

Im about the same as Bownut. I use the uni-knot for most of the light tackle and palomar or trilene for bassin in the thick and rouch.

I'm a fly fisherman too, so I know the nail knot, duncan loop, double surgeons, etc.

A couple months ago there was an article in Field and Stream (don't usually read it but got suckered by my son to buy a magazine subscription) about knots. They had one called the San Diego Jam that looked pretty good. I'm going to practice tying it and give it a try this fishing season.

My go-to know is the Trilene knot.

Our fishing season opens on Saturday. I'm pretty pumped up about it. Hopefully I'll get to tie plenty of knots and hopefully I'll have some pictures to share next week.

The guys in my predator calling club myself included, are heading up to the Eastern Sierras for our annual fishing
and drinking expedition the first weekend in June.
We rent a 4000 square foot cabin on the June lake loop.
There will be 12 to 17 guys. It will be azz clown central for a few days. Card games, cigar smoking, you know the drill. Grizz

When possible, I snell direct to hook. Otherwise Palomar.

For mono to snap swivel, Palomar.

For braid to swivel, Uni-knot.

Mono-mono or mono-braid connections, double Uni knot.

Heavy wind on-running line, Albright knot

Making a double line, Aussie Braid.

Just goofing off quick & easy knot, Improved clinch. More turns for lighter line (up to seven)...
