flextone echo

another thing to check is where the remote battery connections to the remote are. Only one of my prongs was sticking out. Just touched the other two with a small screwdriver and they popped right out and the remote started to work and get charged.

ER1 the batteries in the unit and the remote both charge when you plug in the charger. Haven't had any trouble what so ever with mine, unit or the remote, charging. It is a little tough to push the plug in, but by the same respect, it doesn't fall out if you happen to bump it, or move it.

Only thing I haven't been impressed with on this call was the rattling/clanking hardware on the strap supplied with the caller, and I fixed that! http://www.predatormastersforums.com/for...673#Post1817673

yes this is true

I called them today and I spoke with some lady and she said they didnt do price matching on nothing so I rekon i want be getting it from them just wait until others get some in stock.

thats the one I had ordered from on Jan.15th and ask for an update teo days ago and was told it'll be the end of the month.

bigd5241 who did you call about the price match? If it was Dick's then I'd call them back. They are the ones who matched the price of Native Outdoors @ 119.00 and any order over 79.00 qualifies for free shipping. I just ordered mine on Feb.3 and it'll be delivered this tuesday.

larryb ok Im going to call them back tomorrow or the next day bc most stores have price match. And I have had a situation in the store were they matched a price so I have no idea but Im going to contact them back. If they give me some bs, then Ill wait and get it from somebody else. I wanted it kind of quick but I dont have to have it tomorrow or nothing just one of them things when you want it you want it now haha!!Thanks.

So has anyone done a side by side comparison with a spitfire ? Especially volume. I am on the verge of selling my spitfire and buying an echo or a scorpion. I want more than 24 calls and I don't like my remote, I guess borrowing a firestorm spoiled me.

Larryb called dicks again today and another woman different one this time told me the same thing so I contacted the manager of dicks in my area and he told me they do and he would handle it but my buddy down the road has a fox pro call that wireless for 80 bucks so i figured since im just getting into predator hunting Id get that and if i liked it then I would up grade to something else.

I don't blame you bigd, but I'm glad that you were able to get the straight answer from dick's even if you had to get the manager involved.

Well, I talked to the Flextone folks today, or at least one of them.
Wasn't much of a discussion to be honest, I told the gentleman what was happening and his reply was, "must be the batteries, I'll see if I can find some to send to ya."
No questions concerning the problem no nothing.
So, I guess I'll try new batteries and see if that's the cause of the problem.
Just gotta get the weather to cooperate so I can try it out.

My echo called in a yote yesteray evening... I put a 223 up his back end at about 80 yds when he tried to leave. He was about 30 yds from the call...which I had in the wide open... Stupid me... which he didn't feel comfortable with it... I should of had my critter getter out there... first time I didn't... anyways... I'm very happy with this unit... I used some deer mouse for a min... because that is a low mousie squeal.. then waited a min or so... and tried the vole mouse for a couple of mins... which is a louder squeal... then another two min of quiet... then I gave about 2 mins of pig in distress... pause somemore...then a couple of female howls... more pause...then a few female challenges... after somemore pause i did a few coyote rally calls. It was after this 20 mins or so, that I saw one coming... or should I say going... because he was moving through a clearcut, with the wind to his back... trying to circle around.. and get downwind... which he did... but he shouldn't have...

I was up in a deer ladder stand, watching over a clearcut that had hogs as well as yotes.

For the price... there is no way you can get a better ecaller. I'm very happy so far... no problems.

lol...friday night it was freezing i never had to put the remote inside my coat...it was 120 yards upwind or more on a couple stands i had to howl to tell it was on then i set it on the vole also about 3 bars.....

if the might atom remote is as good that will be my next call...the sounds are good...

best 119 dollars ive spent on a call....ive hunted with numerous other calls and i didnt even have to put the antenna up on the remote...as i forget most of the time lol...

i cant see how they can even sell it for 139....its built well..

Also if you buy the competitors call you get just 24 sounds..
how much will you have to pay for the other 85 from them...you get the rechargeable batteries..charger the whole deal...after you buy there call you have to spend 50 dollars on a charger and batteries..

i do charge my batteries in a regular charger...though...

Well, I got to use the Echo last weekend. Spooked two going in. Called up a third but the wind had changed direction and I wasn't paying attention. Sucker came in back to my left and behind. When he popped up over the bank, I'm not sure who was most surprised.
I used a set of Energizers that I bought and everything worked fine. They also charged up fine that night so I guess I got junk batteries in the beginning.
The folks down in Texas sent me a new set of batteries to replace the bad ones and I installed them night before last. The new ones charged up perfectly, so again I guess it was bad batteries.
The caller worked great and volume was more than enough for where I was calling. My only complaint, and it's not really a complaint, is that I have to push the remote button twice at times to start the caller after it goes into sleep mode.
Not really a big deal, just someting I have to get used to.
Overall I'm really happy with it and I'd recommend it to anyone just getting into calling who doesn't want to sink a bunch of cash into a caller.

I have the Flextone and am very happy with it. Figured out the charger cord needed to be pushed way in after a couple times of swearing at the thing for not charging. I also bought new batteries and kept the originals as back ups. I have found mine lasts a long time on a charge. I charge my batteries in the unit without a problem. HINT: to check if the charger is working, turn on the main unit and look at the battery icon and if you see the bars moving inside the icon then it is charging. The remote range is great. Been over 150 yards line of sight with no problem. Have not tried to max it out yet.

I think the speakers are loud enough, obviously a Prairie Blaster is louder. Dogs can hear alot better than us. I dont think you have to pipe sounds like you're at freakin' Woodstock.

Only thing I dont like about it is that there is no external speaker jack. For night hunting I keep a sweat band around the remote over the window to cut down the light till it times out, kills your night vision. Tried red plastic but that made it hard to read the print in the window, especially when back to day hunting. Also circled the buttons with some glow in the dark paint, see them better plus the ridges of the paint make it easier to feel where the buttons are.

I was using a friends FX5 but he needed it back and I could not justify spending $600 on a Fury. For the buck, I think the Flextone Echo is a great E-caller.
